I realize that you and a few other posters in the rant fought the good fight to show your support for Miles during a tough time.
I also realize that the "rantards" along with a great portion of the media world fueled the flames of each other and wouldn't give Les a break for seemed like years.
Choctaw - you know better than anyone on this board, that Miles has to at least win the West this year or the heat will be applied to his backside once again.
I guess the question is, how long does Les intend to put up with the persecution from a portion of his own fanbase before he says

Can you name me a few coaches that have won anything of significance without having talent?
Sabana need at least 8 first rounds picks on a team to be good.

Part of the excitement was Flynn holding the ball a bit too long, but watch the play, the catch was made in the endzone with 3 seconds left on the clock.
CHAMPIONS MAKE THOSE KIND OF PLAYS!!!!!!!! That one still gives me chills when I watch it...like Hester's five 4th down runs...it was DESTINY!!!!!

One thing that does stand out... he has not won the west in 3 years. If that doesn't change, then people will continue to be unhappy.
Another thing that stands out from the last three years:
1. Florida, Tebow, 2008 Champs (see also Bama)
2. Bama, Ingram, 2009 Champs
3. Auburn, Newton, 2010 Champs
Miles has demonstrated without a doubt that he can build and maintain an elite program in the nation's most competitive division. He has not won the west in three years, but any other elite coach would have had his share of struggles against this level of competion.
The question should be: Good Coach or Bad Coach. Luck is a given in this profession.
He might still need to win another championship to reach elite status. But if you can't reason that he is a good coach based on overall success, then you just can't be reasoned with period.
[not directing this at you SLAYERXING. just quoting your post]

62-17 through 6 seasons
Are there really people out there that seriously believe he's a "bad" coach?

LSU needs to wear pink

True, another reason why you can't discount his success even though he hasn't won the west in a few years.
This conference is BRUTAL.
Many think Meyer is a better coach, but this conference burned him out.
Miles is entering year 7 in the SEC and seems pretty much unphased by the pressure besides being occasionally angry at the criticism.

Heck, Coach Miles could do that in one play.
Just Google "LSU fake punt vs Florida 2010".
