Compulsory Corps membership was a huge issue. Can you imagine recruiting some Stud Duck football player, them telling him he has to spend his first year getting yelled at by kids half his size, being told to drop and give 40 push ups at their whim, etc.?

If you look at recent accomplishments there is not much difference. A&M is highly regarded nation wide now.

It's still an excuse.

But, I get the ancient history argument. That all happened a long time ago. It's pathetic how the cheating-arse longhorns trot that HISTORY out there to prove their CURRENT superiority.

Honestly, neither program is that great. Aggy has never done shite and Texas had a good run 10 years ago, but they are Kentucky now.

The entire state should be ashamed of the state of college football in Texas.

And this is such a dumb thing to laugh at A&M over. Literally every single school would have similar records if they played Texas as many times as we have in these sports save Alabama or tennessee in football and Kentucky in basketball

It's an excuse, but a valid one.

Since then, i.e., in the last 40 years, I agree about the whole state. We crow about football being a religion, and the Cowboys are "America's Team", but the records and accomplishments of the the Cowboys, Texas/Oilers, Longhorns, and Aggies is WAY under what they should be.

We did all right with Slocum and Sherrill, but Franchione, Sherman, and Sumlin were just bad leaders of a big program.

You would still be undefeated if you played them as many times as we have

We don’t run it; we host the state tournament.
