Y"all Auburn fans are missing the point because you"re so defensive about Cam. Mama Lattimore didn't"t like the hard sell. A recruiter can make lots of promises: first carry of the season; you can wear Bo Jackson' number; you will be the starter, etc. Mama just preferred the HBC's "you gotta earn it" approach. Spurrier is all about character. It' no accident we had zero arrests this year.

I don't get the point that we could not guarantee him playing as a freshman. He'd absolutely play as a freshman. It wouldn't even be in question.

Did you catch the story on College Gameday with Lattimore and his mom? It seemed to contradict this article.
This article should be taken with a grain of salt considering who wrote it. The guy has a hard on for Auburn right now.

Ross, you are one of the few Aubs taking the middle ground on here. IRL, my Aub friends are middle ground, too. Guess the majority of the pissy Aubs let it roll on the internet.
The public opinion, outside of the All In Family is not very good and it reflects poorly on the SEC in general; however it is now looking even worse for Aub, the SEC office and the NCAA.

Thayer Evans has already shown a bias against Auburn, he hasn't even tried to hide it, so based on watching the interview with Lattimore and his mom I'm pretty sure he questioned her in a way to get a certain answer and probably stretched and took out of context things she said.

Several papers refuse to print his articles anymore because he doesn't let facts get in the way of a good story. The NYT had to print a nice retraction after the fiasco that was the UT story Evans tried to create.
