Hard side of bracket:
8. Ohio State vs 9. Tennessee
Winner plays 1. Oregon

Easy side of bracket:
6. Notre Dame vs 11. Clemson
Winner plays 3. Boise State

Will be interested to see if 17 Clemson jumps 8 SMU, they have H2H but also an extra loss and that’s a big jump.

5 Texas vs 12 SMU would be a cool throwback matchup. Klubnik vs Ewers would be a rematch of the Texas 6A state title game (Klubnik won)

Ha! That’s pretty cool and would be fun to watch.

Which would give us:
8. Ohio State vs 9. Tennessee
Winner plays 1. Oregon

7. Penn State vs 10. Indiana
Winner plays 2. Georgia

6. Notre Dame vs 11. Clemson
Winner plays 3. Boise State

5. Texas vs 12. SMU
Winner plays 4. Arizona State

While I think they flip ND and PSU so we have the all-Indiana first round game, we're largely on the same page now. I think they like Texas vs SMU and ND vs Indiana matchups to get eyes on the two teams people are least likely to watch by making them in-state games.

I will say if either of those is right... it sets up nice for UGA.

No Texas, Oregon, Tennessee or Ohio State on the UGA "side" of the bracket until the NC.

Instead the potential opponents before the final are Indiana, PSU, Boise, Clemson and Notre Dame (reversing ND and PSU would just impact when we might face each team).

Yeah our starting walkon safety Taaffe #16 was teammates with Klubnik and picked off Ewers in that game

Texas politics, either Indiana ends up at 12 or Texas slides down further than 5th. In the past there would be no way Dodds would allow for a game like this against SMU, too much to lose. Guess we'll see what kind of stroke they still have.

They aren't going to set a possible next game for Oregon being the same team they just beat in their CCG.

They won't have UGA playing Texas in the 2nd round for the same reason.

So did Wisconsin. It was at home but still, it’s Wisconsin.

How exactly will Penn St. fall six spots for losing to the clear # 1 team in the conference championship game. They are almost surely going to be 6 (behind Texas and ahead of ND). No chance they are not hosting in two weeks.

Because they’ll have 2 losses and, I think, 0 wins over top 25 teams.

Their two close losses (one of which is in the conference championship game) were to Oregon and Ohio State. I really doubt they put ND, who was sitting at home this week with their loss to Northern Illinois, ahead of Penn St. it should not, and likely won’t happen.
