LSU teams don’t even start taking baseball seriously until at least 1am

I was kind of looking forward to some late night baseball

Did that storm ever even reach Hoover? Certainly not before the game would have already ended.
SEC caught a break with the first 3 games going quickly and smoothly, then needlessly canceled the final game.

Based on the Day 1 thread it looks like it did.

Not any later than normal. Max of four games each day. Last game originally scheduled for today (Wednesday) has been bumped to Thursday.

It was smart to start in tuesday and leave a buffer for weather. Kudos to the SEC, for once

A&M survives to Day 2 of the tournament.

The storm line definitely moved through Hoover between 9 and 10 pm. It wasn’t neraly as severe there as other areas, but you can’t really predict how each and every storm in a line will behave. They just knew that line had the potential for damaging winds and tornados. Whether the game would have been finished by then we will never know. Even if the game had been over, it is likely there still would have been people in and around the stadium.
Worst case scenario would have been the game did finish and everyone was headed to their vehicles/in their vehicles leaving when a severe storm/tornado rolled through. There were pissed off people, but they probably made the right call.

Yeah, potential of nasty weather should be enough for anyone to be okay with it. At the time it was hard (for me) to tell anything serious moving in, but they made the right call.
It’s so annoying when a weather call is made for something (sports, school) and people bitch just because it didn’t hit their exact area. It’s a general forecast for a general area, people.
