Teams headed in the wrong direction at the wrong time.

Not saying LSU is in a great spot for the postseason but i find it funny how for other teams you say “won 2 of the last 4 series.” And for LSU only “lost last 2 series”. Lsu has also won 2 of the last 4 series. In fact lsu has won 6 of the last 8 sec series and split another…but yes we still look like shite right now

In the last 10 games, UGA is 10-0 with an SEC championship win over LSU, a playoff win over Ohio St and a National Championship win over TCU. I think we're doing just fine.

Which of these teams have yet to win a road series?

Lsu has also won 2 of the last 4 series.

You are correct. But LSU is 1-4 your last 5 SEC games. South Carolina is the only team with a worse record or same record over that same time fame. LSU is also 2-2 over its last 4 midweek games. South Carolina is the only team that will make regionals with a worse record than LSU over its last 2 SEC series.

We all understand that LSU sat the world on fire to start the season. But as you seen with last years UT team it doesn’t matter what you do beginning of the season. Only thing that matters now is how you end the season going into the regionals and super regionals. LSU peaked before everyone else and was playing really great. Now everyone else has fixed its mistakes and starting to play well as LSU is falling off.

Ole Miss lost 2 of 3 to A&M in their last series of the season last year and supposedly needed a couple of wins in Hoover to secure a bid and was bounced by 8 seed Vandy in the 1st game.

How is that for peaking going into the post season?

Because this post wasn't about seaosn accomplishments. It was about who is headed in the right/wrong direction to end the season. Did last year 57 wins help Tennessee get to Omaha? No!!! It’s more important on how you end the season, than how start. And right now LSU and South Carolina are headed in the wrong direction big time

But they ended the season 8-2 in last 10 games prior to Hoover. During those last 10 games they swept Missouri, Swept #9 LSU, and beat #11 Southern Miss. The Committee wasn’t going to punish them for losing to #4 aTm. After just beating 2 ranked teams in sweep fashion .

SEC CWS champs have finished as follows:

- 2021 State lost 2/3 to 15-36 Missouri the second to last SEC series and went 2Q in the SECT.

- 2020 Vandy finished on a tear, basically unbeatable the last 2-3 months of the season

- 2017 Florida played well down the stretch

- 2014 Vandy lost their last series and went 1-2 in the SECT.

- 2011 USC finished 5-4 in their last 3 SEC series and went 1-2 in the SECT. They didn't lose a game in the NCAAT or CWS

- 2010 - USC lost their last series of the season and went 2Q in the SECT. They lost one game from the regionals through the national titles series

- 2009 LSU was basically unbeatable the last 2-3 months of the season

- 2000 LSU was basically unbeatable down the stretch

- 1997 LSU lost 3 of their last 4 SEC games, including a 16-1 loss to Arkansas and a 28-2 loss to Alabama.

- 1996 LSU finished well down the stretch

- 1993 LSU went 3-3 in their last 6 SEC games

- 1991 LSU finished ok down the stretch and had an ok performance in the SECT

- 1990 UGA finished the season by getting swept by LSU and went 2Q in the SECT

What does all this tell us? There isn't a magical recipe to predict how a team will perform in the NCAAT. Baseball is a sport of variance that will produce unpredictable results in the small sample size and format of the NCAAT. Big reason the #1 seed hasn't won the thing since 1999

Bama is 6-2 since firing the gambler with 3 of those wins by 9 runs or more.

They lost 3 of their last 4 games including their last 2. Vandy finished 9th in the SEC last season and bounced them from the Hoover. Don't gloss over the fact that they were not guaranteed a spot in the post season and couldn't get a single win.

I get it that you want to be getting better right now and not worse, but I think it is a little premature to bury LSU for the season.

It's Ole Miss! No one was paying any attention to that team. On the other hand, Tennessee was on their mind and team were paying attention that finally got Tennessee the boot.

because they were referenced in the post I quoted. It would have been unnecessary and redundant
