He definitely makes a lot of sense. I can take or leave the NFL thing though.

He is right. Why should college football tiptoe around the NFL.

While I agree with him, it isn’t quite that simple imo.
It’s all about money. Who pays this money?
FOX
ABC & ESPN
NBC
CBS
They also have the NFL rights..
Could CFB push up against that and threaten to go with Amazon? Sure, but they also have NFL on Thursday’s.
That is issue #1. Issue #2 is the bowl games and New Years Day. This year, it was on a Thursday.
If you play on the 13th, 20th, 27th and the Championship is Jan 3rd, what happens to the parades and what games are played on NYD?
I think the whole schedule is trying to work around all of those factors above..
I’d prefer to have 16 teams on Saturday’s until it is over.
eta: if you eliminated conference championship games, you could go the 6th, 13th, 20th and 1st.

Bumping this because it’s great, but you need to edit with a summary for the people who don’t bother with embeds + it might get more discussion.

His suggestions made a lot of sense. So that means the NCAA won't do it
His thoughts start at 2:59.

I'm down with starting the playoffs and such sooner. I don't like the excuses part and people claiming a bye isn't an advantage, because with the exception of the #5 and sometimes #6 teams it still is.
But it's a good idea for all other reasons.
Now, get past all the TV money and shite that is paying for it all, because they don't give a frick.
