You’re gonna accept a verbal contract with this fricking guy? Lmfao absolutely retarded

So you are saying Ole Miss is going to fire him if he doesn't sign that extension this week? Or make him not Coach the playoffs?

Yes, we would. It’s a massive risk to have a head coach potentially heading elsewhere to continue to walk the halls of your building and potentially recruit kids away while he’s “deciding”. The buyout would be offset by his next contract which would be higher than any amount that we owe. If you can’t focus on the playoffs instead of your inane bull shite contract negotiations, why keep him employed?

Clearly people can see this game:

Lane is stringing Florida and LSU along trolling them yes, but more important to delay both schools from getting their next HC hoping to force their current players into the transfer portal and delay HS commitments.

To further fuel this bonfire, he floated this ‘Ole Miss ultimatum’ to make the other schools really believe that he is going somewhere.

His extension with Ole Miss has an expiration date (probably the week after the egg bowl). So if he doesn’t sign the extension by the cut off it’s a good indication that he never intends to resign because he’s essentially forfeiting his new contract and pay raise with Ole Miss.

And Ole Miss doesn’t have to fire him. They can reassign him and let Joe Judge coach the team in the playoffs which would be enough to force his hand considering the massive ego Kiffin has.

Lala land. You can't "reassign" a head coach. His contract stipulates that he is the head coach.

And he will blow smoke that he simply doesn't have time to read all of the details about the contract extension right now. He knows they will write up a new one if he stays.

Look I understand being aggravated about it. But Lane holds all the cards and the tough talk is just bluster.

Stupid....he could recruit kids like crazy to OM right now if he just signs that damn thing and stops stringing everyone along. But, instead its all to hurt our recruiting efforts? Gotta love it

If you really believe Jimmy Sexton doesn't have that covered in contracts.....haha

But keep believing Kiffin will be moved to janitorial staff during the playoffs

We aren't going to fire him. We can suspend him with pay. You don't even need a great reason to do it but you can go with conduct detrimental to the team.

Again you’re talking about a contract you’ve never read and using appeals to authority and straw man arguments to prove your point. No one knows how this is gonna play out. But I do know Ole Miss is the only school with an executed contract with Kiffin for the 2026 season.

What conduct? He didn't do anything

The ex wife went on the visits.

And to the other guy, give me several examples of head coaches being "reassigned" during the season. Believe me, we had those same delusions for BK. But it isn't reality

Yea, he has a contract......which is why Ole Miss isn't going to do anything. Glad you finally understand

If his ex wife has zero to do with the decision making, then why did LSU want to meet with her?

It’s obvious she’s an extension of him. Therefore, conduct detrimental.
