You are downplaying his success as a coach so if he comes to LSU, he poses no threat to the rest of the league. This should make conference schools glad because LSU won’t be a contender. Am I right?

What make you think the rest of the SEC gives a shite about LSU, Ole Mrs is a contender now and they are much more worried about them than LSU.

Ok, LSU is never a factor so I see. A high caliber coach at Ole Miss, who hasn’t won the SEC since 1963, is the same as LSU. It’s not like LSU has more potential, resources, etc…
You win.

Kirby is the current highest paid at 13.5 and he’s accomplished just a bit more than Lane in his career. He’s actually won things that matter. Anything at all that matters, which lane has yet to do

OK?

And what do you think it would take to hire Kirby away? I'm sure it would dwarf what Kiffin's going to get.

Let's just say things are what they are: Kiffin appears to be the best guy "available", meaning he's at a school you can pull him from. And you have 2 hungry, resource-laden programs in LSU and Florida, both of which could win titles if they are rolling, open at the same time and competing for him. If it were just one (Florida if LSU hadn't canned Kelly), I think he makes 10-11 mil a year. I don't think Penn State seriously dipped their toes into that pool.

We did and he failed. So back to my original point, LSU is still no threat even with Lane. But like you said, nobody gives a shite about LSU.

Everyone but Ole Miss fans are giddy right now. Imagine if this actually happens.

If Kiffin gets that kind of money…UGA is obligated to give Kirby $1 more.

So I guess UGA is fricked as well

you can pick out teams that we've lost to to fit your narrative all you want if it makes you feel like he's not a really good coach. But, we should win our 50th game in 5 season this Friday. Only GA and Bama have won more games during that span.

I am not happy with how he's handled things and will wish him the worst if he leaves...but to act like he's not a great coach is absurd.

Lane Kiffin has beaten 4 SEC teams who finished with a winning SEC record. In six years.

Take that how you wish.

Ole Miss had 8 NFL draft picks last year, including a starting NFL quarterback. That was the fifth most, and the four in front of him ALL made the playoffs. Everything on paper said Ole Miss should have been a top 4 team last season. Yet Ole Miss lost to Kentucky at home, handed LSU a win because Lane got cute and cost Ole Miss at least 6 points (in a 3 point loss), and still only needed one win against two teams with a combined 7-13 record. He lost one.

Lane Kiffin has increased Ole Miss’ win total far above Matt Luke’s. But Lane has never won a SEC division title, played for a conference title, or made the playoffs. And he was loaded last year.

Lane is a good coach. But Got Damn he spazzes out when under pressure.

He has been fired by the Raiders, Southern Cal, and Alabama. The fact he is about to be the highest paid college coach in history is just mind boggling.

At this point your coach is Frank Wilson, Jr.

LSU has butchered this firing worse than any school in history has ever handled firing a football coach.

But this new hire will be smooth as new silk.

Are you a LSU fan? If so that would explain why you don’t understand how the college football playoffs work.

I don’t understand it either. He has had multiple chances and utterly failed at each one.

He did good things at Ole Miss. that’s true. But that in no way means he can replicate that.

If he ends up at LSU, I think he crashes out. But, guess we shall see
