It will be Hugh Freeze hookers, probation and all. If we wanted Lane, we could get him.

We have other coaches publicly rebuff us from Ole Miss.

location

Yeah it's location is being 3 hours from Georgia in one direction and 3 hours from Bama in another.

It also has instability, but you left that one out.

Things were different then. Like I said, with a well run NiL and portal you can build your program from just about anywhere. If facilities are on par and all. Built in advantages of Auburn vs Ole Miss are being erased. With college free agency. Oxford is a pretty nice location. If you have a good relationship with the President, AD, and boosters, nice facilities, etc, why leave for Auburn?

Just the reality in todays landscape of college football. Advantages are greater looking for a coach in another P5 conference that wants to coach in the SEC.

It would be a lateral move for Kiffin. Nothing to gain. He will wait for the Alabama job to open.

I do think under normal circumstances that Auburn is a better job than Ole Miss, but right now I wouldn't touch Auburn.

I'm confused with all the Auburn has money stuff. Do you not think Ole Miss has wealthy alumni?
Auburn- Jimmy Rane's networth is 950 Million.

Ole Miss has the Duff Brothers- Networth $4 billion dollars. Jim Barksdale is worth $750 million.
Leslie Lampton is worth $2.4 billion dollars.

All who donate to Ole Miss. Not to mention the likes of Morgan Freeman, the Mannings, etc.

This whole perception Ole Miss has no money is a very flawed statement.

I don’t blame all the other SEC teams/fans for looking down on Ole Miss. I am going tell you something no one else has said in this thread. It is the reason and only reason Ole Miss lost its place as a top tier program. The Race card.

Ole Miss suffered until recently with a huge racism perception. Anytime we were in on a kid the opposition could play the race card. Game over.

Not anymore. We have since Tommy Tuberville been working to remove the old relics. Every coach since has moved us further down the road to redemption. But make no mistake about it Lane “Joey Freshwater” Kiffin has completely removed that tag from us. Lane is known by Hollywood and Detroit alike. He is unquestionably the hippest HC in all of professional sports bar none.

Now a part of his mystique is his approach to football. Another part is his celebrity which he embraces. Another part is how much he is like Leach and doesn’t give 2Fs. Many many more things could be said but they me break it down for you. Lane Kiffin is creating a monster at Ole Miss. He had everything in place and it’s a machine. Hell is a whole industry. Him moving is way more complicated that any of you on here realize.

Jimmy is not the richest Alum, he is just the biggest giver to the University. Jimmy gives money beyond the Athletic Department. That is pretty common at many schools.

Auburn needs to re align their Athletics department with their boosters before a coach will take them seriously.

Tim Cook is worth $1.8 billion. Doesn't mean he's giving any of that to Auburn.

I think Auburn is going to get Hugh Freeze.

They should have done it in the first place. That’s one of the few hires that made sense after firing somebody like Malzahn.
