I guess this puts to rest the question of if lane was wanted back as oc next year. He was gone.
It's widely believed Kiffin was told he was gone and to get another job, which is how he ended up at a shite job like FAU.

There is no possible way you can spin this as a good thing.
You just dropped your OC one week before the National Championship.
Bama will probably still win because of that defense but do not kid yourself.
And Sark's sponsor better be sleeping on his couch.

I look forward to helping Alabama win another championship, and would like to thank Coach Saban, the staff, and all the players and fans for the past three years at UA for an unforgettable time and championship run. Roll Tide!"
I'm confused. Is Kiffin participating in practice and attending the game but just not calling the plays? Wtf.

You win guys. Firing your OC a week out from the NC is very ideal and not a distraction at all
I'm sure Saban agrees

Y'all should wait and see if we lose before getting giddy.
We may just rush for 500 yards and win going away now.

Just shows Lane has a ways to go in maturing as a head coach. Jim McElwain, Kirby, both were able to put aside distractions and finish the season while Lane couldn't handle it. I've had a love hate relationship with Lane but the last couple of games it's been all hate. His play calling isn't everything the analyst make it out to be, he's had amazing athletes executing them which makes him look better. But lately his play calling with Hurts has been atrocious in my opinion.

No, I'm sure he doesn't want this at frickin all.
However, he clearly decided this was the better of the two options, since it's the choice he made.

Widely believed on the internet. That has not been proven. I post on numerous forums and the only folks touting that as truth are Bama fans. That is speculation at best.

This just seems like it should have been done prior to the last game. Definitely a unique situation when it comes to timing.

Lane has been taking heat for all of a couple of weeks

Melt hard Bama karma is a bitch

Hell I still have my money on Bama. I'm simply laughing at the attempt at spinning this like it actually is a good thing.

Sorry baw, this ain't a big a deal as you're making it

It was obvious Kiffin wasn't 100% committed to this offense.

Look, no matter how the UW game went, the timing of firing an OC quite literally could not be any worse.
You're bringing in a guy already on staff though. It's a fairly painless transition.
