That was exactly the logic that some LSU people used to defend BK once the public tide turned against him.

You could have kept Brian Kelly and saved $54 million. Put some of that to get the top portal QB and a couple of the top offensive linemen. See if that fixed the problem. You didn’t have to make any new hire.

This feels like Groundhog Day.

You used to be such a big Kiffin fan, now he's chopped liver.

What gives?

Do you have enough self awareness to be embarrassed about openly displaying these retarded thoughts?

On the flip side of the coin, Bear Bryant had a .664 winning percentage when he arrived at Alabama in 1958 while Nick Saban had a .679 winning percentage in college when he arrived at Alabama in 2007.

The most validating thing about this hire BY FAR is the opposing fans doing everything they can to cope with it.

"Yeah yeah well look at Florida Atlantic's record 8 years ago, I bet you feel stupid now right?!???"

Coming from the fanbase whose coach started Jake Fromm. Dude had an insurance salesman playing QB with the Jets QB on the bench lol

If you can’t see the difference between a 50 year old Lane Kiffin at LSU vs a 62 year old Brian Kelly, then you are just dumb as fricking dirt.

They see. It's why they're all up in arms about it.

We've been saying this at work for weeks. Spend the buyout money on assistant coaches & portal, field a $30M roster and kick some arse.

Uhhhh, LSU did that this past season and Brian Kelly had LSU as the laughing stock of college football.

A big reason as to why Kelly was fired is that he was starting to hurt the LSU brand with just how unlikeable he was.

LSU fans said the exact same thing when LSU hired Kelly.

And you alter retards said you weren’t obsessed with LSU, but that you just didn’t like Brian Kelly. Well, he’s gone, and now your Down’s syndrome fixation with LSU is as strong as ever. Pathetic.

We'll find out in 4 years. Obviously if judging the hire based on the press conference kiffin was always going to win. But those people are idiots

Nothing like a 7 year old argument that wasn't even good at the time. You're starting a true freshman QB in the SEC, especially over the guy who just got you to the national championship game??
Ooooh but he's the 3-9 Jets QB

As far as this, I haven't seen your particular line, just a lot of people pointing out that LSU is paying A+ coaching dollars for a guy who is probably a B+ coaching wise and has a lot of baggage. And laughing at the amount of chest beating LSU fans are doing here (TBF it's understandable on TD) & elsewhere on the internet

Maybe start with a guy who isn't repped by Jimmy Sexton??

I'd give more nuance but I can't take you seriously when your punctuation block is larger than a single word in your sentence

Like my reply above, I don't think Kiffin is a bad coach, this is just a bad deal, an overpay imo

what was Saban’s winning percentage when he got to LSU?

O’s? Miles’?

Since we're asking questions:

-What was Les Miles (career 67% win rate) paid relative to other coaches at the time??

-What was known about Saban's personality at the time & how does it compare to Kiffin's?

-What did coach O achieve other than catching lightning in a bottle?? And what is your opinion of edit: Gene Chizik & Jimbo Fisher??

He only had a 63% win percentage at Ole Miss prior to Golding.

His 34% against ranked teams makes up for it.

That's pretty good for Ole Miss. Excited to see what that percentage will be at a better program like LSU.
