A lot of LSU fans don't want a "splash hire", they want some "up and comer", the next Dan Lanning or Kirby Smart.

Yes, I will also take one Kirby Smart, please.

But LSU will get their version from Temu.

I agree but as I posted, I believe the governor of Louisiana has enormous power when it comes to the operations of LSU, way more than any other state governor over a state university, so there ain’t nobody who can stop this dude from getting involved.

I doubt Woodward is around when a new coach is hired.

There's some other issues besides just the BK thing.

What’s LSU gonna pay to get rid of Woodward and who were the bozos that hired him in the first place?

Landry doesn't give a shite about LSU, he's a ULL man. He's just a populist saying what he thinks people want to hear.

Once he realizes no one actually wants him involved, he'll remove himself from the issue, much like his fake tiger stunt that no one liked.

It's still incredibly short sighted to say the taxpayers are responsible for the buyout, when he was a part of the decision making that caused a buyout to happen. I'm sure he isn't concerned about any blowback though because he knows the taxpayers won't actually pay anything, it just sounds good right now.

Woodward makes less than LSU's defensive coordinator, his current contract runs through spring 2029, not sure how a "buyout" works there if there is one.

What the frick is it of his business? If Louisiana is anything like Alabama, then the state itself only pays the coach like $200k a year.

The rest of the salary is paid for by separate organization.

I would think they will offer a contract similar to what A&M did with Elko when he was hired, modest base salary with lots of incentives.

LSU doesn't currently have a president, believe one is being elected next week.

Landry will then fade into the background, if he has any decent advisors they're already telling him he screwed up with this press conference.

You can tell by his body language that he's just shooting from the hip and trying to tell people what he thinks they want to hear.

Reminds me of O telling everyone he was bringing back "da Joe Brady offense".
