It's only half done.
When your stadium seats 106.000 and the cheapest ticket you can buy on stubhub for the Lamar game are above face value, come see us.
And corndog vendors don't count in seating capacity.

I ask a legitimate question. You get defensive because you are insecure about your inferior stadium, team, coach, school, and life in general. I can't be held accountable for all your shortcomings.

I'm really confused by all of the LSU fan "erector set" comments? Tiger Stadium is a mish mash of a bunch of different odd angles and lines when you look at it empty. It looks great, just like new Kyle will, when it's full of fans though.
There's a major difference, though. Most if not all the original SEC school stadiums grew over 50-75 years, so the piecemeal nature is to be expected. Kyle Field is being taken back to the studs, so the expectations are a little different.
To me, it doesn't look like a college stadium. I think of Joke Campbell and its brick facade and towers. It doesn't look bad at all. Just sterile.

So you're moving the goalposts even though Kyle has grown the exact same way. Sounds like you just have a problem with A&M and can't see past your bias.

Kyle Field looks like a big NFL stadium. Like BDS. Two best stadiums in the country.

Damn you Aggies are sensitive. Maybe you guys should actually read my comment. I personally don't think it looks bad, and I said that. I was just speaking to the "erector set" comment that I quoted, and why other fans likely hold this upgrade to a little different standard.
Bear in mind that even the BDS upgrades weren't this extreme. This is the biggest makeover an SEC has ever gotten in one shot. So maybe my back to the studs comment was overboard. But this isn't just an addition.
Yeah, I hate Texas A&M, but not as much as a few other West schools. But that makes no difference in what I think about your stadium.

That's exactly what's happened to Kyle. It's one of the oldest continuously used plots of land for college football in the country. The way it's grown has been very piecemeal in nature in part because no one could have forseen the state cow college growing as it has.

Well, most of the "hate" in this thread regarding Kyle has been due to its uniqueness (tackle box/piecemeal design) rather than its sterility.
The brick facade and towers are more for the purpose of tying together the look of the finished product. Also, our baseball stadium uses a similar brick facade.

It's all good, misey. We're just proud as hell of our digs, just like LSU fans are of TS and any other school is of their recent renovations.
For the record, there's not a venue in this conference I wouldn't love the opportunity to visit.

Maybe you guys should actually read my comment
quote:we are leaving almost half of our stadium intact. so yea, its a large renovation, but to act like kyle field having an erector set is different than neyland or Jordan hare or tiger stadium is stupid

I get you think kyle field is nice, but the premise of us having an erector set is different than everyone else is stupid

Did. In the past. You guys tore down that organic growth from the past and are incorporating what's left into what is essentially a new stadium. That's not the same as multiple upgrades ending up in a huge stadium, like Neyland.
As for the "back to the studs" comment, point taken. Although this is not a typical stadium expansion. That was my point.

Let me put it this way. I can understand why others would judge your stadium differently than their own. That was what I was getting at. I was talking about several of the previous commenters.
Not myself. I don't care. In fact, I actually like a little structural steel peeking out from behind the facades myself. More reality adds to a stadium's personality. I like organic. Facades usually take away from that.

I thought you guys were getting rid of more that that. Not my team, so I haven't exactly studied the plans. Just going off what I've heard around here.
But this is still the biggest single stadium alteration in the SEC at least the last 40 years. Maybe longer. And it was needed.

Bottom line. Hell, parts of the original Kyle Field structure are still visible from certain angles. The student side was just added on to above, below, and connected on the sides. The NEZ is untouched. Only part getting completely redone is the alumni side to make it nicer for the olds.

Sorely needed, I agree.
Getting out of a stagnant conference with non-traveling fanbases is such a breath of fresh air.

Hahaha, I don't think so. Neyland is and has been one of the greatest CFB venues for a long time. Tennessee is a top ten program all time. In my opinion, we have a great coach at a University in a great small city with some of the best scenery in the country. I have a great life, as I'm lucky enough not to live in College Station.
I'm sorry A&M will never equal the greatness of Tennessee, but congrats on the stadium.

The bolder is all that is relevant in your post, as with most of the posts in this thread.
Also, my folks live in College Station and it's a great place to be from, tbh.

Kyle Field Phase I Complete I look forward to attending Neyland one day as well. Wish we were playing y'all sooner Stadium smack is kind of silly to me. I like that Kyle looks different. I like that there are so many unique venues in this conference alone. Having things homogeneous across the board would be boring as frick.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to visiting Kyle as well. When is it we play y'all. 2017?
Hopefully they go to 9 games so we'll get to play before that
