Alabama would be the only opportunity with that schedule to get a signature win. None of the other teams would qualify. They ain't beating Bama.

Since you are not SEC, you should look how close we play them when we suck. Bana isn’t anything special

We open the year against a playoff team guy.

I don’t think the wrs are as much of a problem as the potential of the team. I think arky is definitely a top 10 team but to win the heisman nowadays, you almost always have to be on a playoff team. Arkansas receivers are actually going to surprise people this year with how good they are. I just worry that he won’t get the heisman bc they are unlikely to make the playoffs

He’s in the right offense to put up the numbers but I don’t know if the team around him is good enough.

I was giving shite to the aggie I replied to since they are on your schedule. No offense to the Hogs.

He's a legit candidate in the sense he has odds available for betting. There's generally only about 15-25 players you can bet in the preseason at most books.

He has the talent to win a Heisman for sure, but the surrounding pieces compared to the likes of a Bryce Young or CJ Stroud is his largest disadvantage, because it would require Arkansas finishing 11-1 at worst. KJ will at least be invited to NYC if by some miracle Arkansas can finish 11-1. The stats would have to be there to go 11-1. Even then I wouldn't guess that he'd be the favorite or really even close to the favorite of those invited.

You never know. Prognostications on who ends up in NYC outside of one or two players are never correct. Legit candidate? Sure he is. Legit contender? Probably not.

We have NINE 4* receivers counting the TEs and a 5*, Dude.

We also have a huge and nasty offensive line and Briles calling plays in year 3.
And a few 4* RBs as well.

Great player but I would put any money on him winning the Heisman.

Since McFadden couldn't win one then Jefferson has no chance.

This.

People don't realize it but we are quietly stacked on offense. And defense.

Reading several posts on other forums from my Hog friends that think he's a legit contender this year? He's Cam Newton 2.0 but plays for Arkansas...can he do it?

No. Even if he was all-world, an Arkansas player isn't going to win it. That's not a shot at either Arkansas or Jefferson. The Heisman is basically a brand popularity contest. It's almost disconnected from the player anymore.

He doesn't have a chance unless Arkansas came off a playoff appearance last year.

Arkansas has a chance at a good season this year. Hogs have quality players on both sides for the first time in a long time.

Really tough schedule though.

Sneaky favorable date: Alabama on October 1. Bama's better, but the Tide go on the road the week before hosting the highly anticipated A&M game. Not saying Arkansas will win, but am saying that this might be a time to take the Hogs and the points if it's double digits.

Sneaky tough date: at BYU on October 15. It's always hard to win at Provo. BYU returns almost every starter from both sides of the ball from a 10-win team.

Correct unless he puts up Johnny Manzel numbers and beat Alabama or go 12-0 then he has no chance. I don't know why this is even a discussion.

KJ Jefferson isn’t even the top 2 QB’s in the SEC m, much less the best in the country. I would ranked the QB’s in this order in the SEC.
1. Young
2.Hooker
3. KJ

I expect to lose this game. Horrid spot coming off A&M, Bama, and @ MSST. It will be easy to lay down given it's OOC and could be relatively banged up after the three preceding games I mentioned.
