Quite frankly, tbh .... college football is pretty-much fricked.

So is Smart now going to get the Saban treatment, where everything he says addressing the state of college-football is seen as "crying, whining and complaining" until he everything he said is proven true in the following year or so?
Just curious.
No, because Kirby isn't Saban and UGA most certainly isn't Alabama. Alabama and Nick Saban earned the right to be hated so badly.

Uga is a year removed from going back to back better than saban ever did. If that ain’t earning it, then when do you think Saban and bama earned it?

Bama earned it long before Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa. Paul Bryant was regarded as the greatest before Saban. And three other coaches have led Bama to national titles. It just is what it is.

Maybe for a dwindling number of people. To anyone under 50, they don’t even remember Bryant. They do remember the 25+ years after him though.

Winning two titles doesn't put Smart and UGA on Saban/Bama's level. Meyer won two at UF. Dabo won two.
Only four more to go.

Kirby Smart isn’t the only one crying about the deterioration of college football, if you want to be serious. Nick Saban retired because of it. I’d bet Dabo does soon. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kirby does also. It’s a fricking mess, and all these guys are millionaires, and if I were them, I’d be like frick all this dumb shite.

Haha what a huge pussy response

Ok, but no one said that it did.
Since you forgot to do so, how about answering my question. When exactly did sabama “earn it”?

I mean Saban and Smart did hoard talent but modern day college football sucks.

wow so much sand in your vag. why don't you go post 45 more times today to take the edge off
kirby is right and it's still whining bluebloods are the only ones with impacted depth, everyone else has more now. So the man is demonstrably whining about having a more even playing field.

I don’t think this is a safe assumption at all.
Safer to assume that Experienced Depth is harder to develop at this point in the transfer portal era.

What’s hilarious is thinking GT actually made a contract with an interior offensive lineman for $800,000. Yeah…..not happening

hes trying to lower expectations for the coming season cause hes seen his team play
Yes. The #1 team in the nation is fricked lol. More like college football is fricked, because this is a
Model is not sustainable and you can’t thank the US Congress for that. NCAA is responsible as well. But government getting involved in everything always goes to shite, and here we are.

For those struggling to grasp, imagine a player coming in, playing 3-4 seasons under the same staff. They should know the system inside & out. They probably know the locker room inside & out and have tons of bonds with their teammates & coaches.
Now imagine that same guy has a different staff every year. He's rebuilding relationships, relearning the playbook etc. Now, maybe he gets good at learning plays & gets exposed to multiple offensive/defensive philosophies. But at the end of the day, he'll probably make more mistakes than the guy with 3x more reps and his team won't gel as well as the guys who've been playing together 3x as long.
The transfer portal gives the same effect. Physically these guys might be juniors, seniors etc. But in a new system they might play more like freshman. Depth matters because it helps you avoid this kind of stuff.

Congress has nothing to do with this. Did the entire Georgia fanbase take meth tonight?

So you're saying UGA has ruined Dom Lovitt's career? Nice going, Kirby.

Sux for them when it became legal to buy players. The new system will work its way out. Coaches in college will bolt for the pros more often now. It’s about coaching, not getting all the best players so you don’t have to coach. The ones complaining are afraid of talent parity. You also have to learn how to keep them, motivate them, etc. They have to earn that paycheck now instead of just doing the booster shuffle the best.

I don't really understand why posters on here are so childish.
I think what he's saying is interesting, and Ive heard others say similar things about the NFL and the NBA.
Simply put, the quality of the play is getting worse and worse. I heard Tom Brady discuss this. I've heard NBA legends talk about it.
I think it comes from players generally not taking the game as seriously as players used to take it. Now it's more about fun
I think KS is definitely one of the coaches that's been alluded to as saying off record they might possibly quit due to the changes in cfb
