Even if it’s the right call, you can’t pick and choose when you can reverse plays like that.

You are thinking through the situation too reasonable. Refs were going to do everything they could to keep sip in the game. Lucky for UGA they were so much better it didn’t cost them the win.

Doesn't matter.
The precedent is that if fans throw crap on the field, the officials might reverse a non-reversible penalty.
Can you see how that will cause fans to throw crap on the field all the time now?

They got it right in one respect. They did not do it in the correct fashion which happens to be just as important.
Additionally, they didn’t flag the crowd which also would have been “getting it right.”

Side note
To all PA announcers: saying “don’t throw things on the field” only leads to one result

You can't get it right when you're wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right.

If there's one thing that can bind all of us together as opposing SEC fans, it's shitty officiating.
We've pretty much all been the recipients of some insanely WTF calls that even our non-football-watching wives and girlfriends could see clearly, so why do these refs within a multi-billion dollar conference have to be so shitty?

I’m all for that happening if it’s something established at the start of the season and they shorten other review processes
All for getting it right. But not in that way. That was just bad

I cannot say I’ve ever seen a penalty reversed after it’s been called. Ever.
I clearly herd them call HOLDING, then they threw bottles like a classless bunch, and the Refs were like, it was UNCATCHABLE, that total BS, holding does not matter, its a HOLD.
These SEC refs have become clowns, over 25 pens in the Bama Tenn. game, you cant every play the damned game, it seems like different clans are trying to one up other factions, hell Tenn. had 10 pens.
Stay out ah\f the damned game, do away with targeting, just call a personal foul when its obvious, most pf the time a nice form tackle is considered great but then the offensive guy lowers his head cause the helmet contact.

I would say he’s right about this.

Apparently Kirby said in his PC that the head official told him it was because they meant to call offensive PI but accidentally called defensive PI
If that’s the case, I’d be curious to know why they moved the ball 15 yards forward and waited over 90 seconds before any ref said anything.
And beyond that, why didn’t they call OPI when they changed the call?
I promise yall I’m not a ref conspiracy guy, but it’s pretty clear the ref made that up to cover his arse because he knew that changing the call is 100% not allowed

Yeah. That’s a bad lie on the spot. To cover up the fact they reviewed it on the big screen.

How, they called HOLDING, I heard them saying holding, you can not then come back and say it was uncatchable, it does not matter a hold is a hold, that's my problem, they changed the call to a P.I. so they could pick up the flag.

Get used to it. Ask Nebraska. It’s not a new thing with Texas and refs favoring them.

Before replay, something like that happened in LSU-Bama game at Tiger Stadium when Nick was at LSU and LSU got the benefit, but the call was correct. They originally got it wrong and the refs must have seen the replay on video board.

Unfortunately, not only do striped lemmings have no accountability, they usually get promoted for doing a despicable job. Expect to see these imbeciles call the CFP Championship.

It was blatantly wrong. And against the rules.
But, it is endemic of the culture of our country- throw a tantrum and you get what you want.
It may have been a bad call, but bad calls happen. Bad breaks in life happen. You suck it up and move on.
Kirby is correct. This is a horrible precedent. I wonder how it will spread and escalate now.
