I love it when a head coach has a plan. The older this guy gets, the more he's reflecting Coach Saban. Putting the media in their lane was a masterpiece this morning. Makes me wish for older days. The guy, for better or worse, will stick to his values. Physical defense and run the ball when YOU want and need to run the ball. If it ain't broke, well, Kirby knows.

Guy sure wins a lot of games to pigeonhole him as a loser. Maybe talking it into reality is a real thing in your world. Anyway, 11 years is enough sample size for me to go out on a limb and say the guy sticks to his belief system and knows what he wants.
The SEC desperately needs a superteam to win it all this season. Whether people think it's Georgia, the shorthorns, or a dark horse like BAMA, the SEC needs a hero.
Kirby did say something during Media Days that is worthy of special consideration. He likes the SECCG but sees it as unnecessary once the Playoffs are expanded. Given that I am already there with all CCGs, that will no doubt be a reality and at least one positive from a field of 24.
The Playoff committee has lost their way. The bakers dozen that selected the BEST 4 teams a few years ago have lost their mandate. SOS was baked into all deliberation back then. Today, you get punished for a loss regardless of opponent. I'm afraid that, without 24 teams, we are going to miss a lot of good teams in the future. This invites a lot of unworthy teams as well, but the Playoff Committee can't do anything about Conference Champions, regardless of record, and they are mesmerized simply by wins and losses.
