Name 1 team in the Playoffs era that lost 2 games and won the Natty. Hell there is only 1 team that lost 2 games and won the Natty going back to the BCS. That Janky Les Miles title that barely anyone recognizes.
More games played = Harder to win the Natty.

Both Nebraska and OU played for an NC during the BCS era, after losing their last game of year.
Nebraska didn’t even win their Big 12 division, lost their last regular season game to Colorado by 26 points, and played for the 2001 NC.
OU in 2003 lost the Big 12 Championship by 28 points to Kansas State and played for the NC
LSU lost two games in 2007 and played for and won an NC
