But it don't matter.....Kiffin has beaten LSU 3 times. Not one of those games did he have the more talented team. That's why everybody wants to hire him. This is not hard. Put that USM education that you and I have to work.

Lane is doing a lot with not much, what would he do at a place with more?

Go 9-3 like he did with the most talented team in Ole Miss history (which was on-par with anything LSU or Florida can do outside a few truly exceptional years like LSU in 2019).

2024 Ole Miss was #20 on the 247 team talent composite

LSU and Florida are usually within the top 10

You hope that's the case.. if lane ends up at LSU! Could be a nice marriage.

I don't think that's accurate. You're on the old paradigm. These recruiting services aren't the sine qua non of player talent.

We had the 5th most draft picks and multiple first rounders on both sides of the ball. That team was exponentially more talented than 9-3 with losses to Kentucky and Florida.

I honestly wonder if he needs the overlooked / underdog type roster to be elite - like he has this year. Because last year was arguably his worst coaching job at OM, with by far the most talented roster and a top 5 roster in the country

Perhaps, but it's more the exception than the rule.

Possibly, maybe last year's roster didn't buy in as much as this year's, which is always the problem with building through the portal.

Folks discount team chemistry and as good as Jaxon Dart is/was Trinidad has been better at decision-making in crucial situations than Dart.

Its just as easy in the new era to make the playoff at Ole Miss as it is LSU and Florida - might be easier.

And there it is. Indiana, Georgia Tech, and Vandy are now good jobs.

Until severe change happens in NIL, this is the way moving forward.

LSU and Florida have been meh that entire time and still have more talent.

You really want to say this when we have a 0 star rated D2 QB doing awesome and in the Heisman race and your preseason Heisman candidate can't even complete a forward pass?

Yep Kiffin can make 14 mil a year on a new 10 year guaranteed contract at Ole Miss as easily as at Florida or LSU!

There's always exceptions, but they're just that, exceptions.

The problem was the running game. Q left, and Bentley apparently pissed off the wrong coach and it hurt his playing time. With a running back that team is likely playing in the big game against Ohio State.

You are correct sir. LSU and Florida would be lateral moves at best. I assume Kiffin it's just letting this ride for now to get a raise or contract extension from Ole Miss but he isn't going to either aforementioned school.
