Wow, that's an extremely long time frame to use as a data point. Not sure if I have time to delve down that deeply.

I agree, Sumlin couldn't even win Conference USA.

Hmmmm...good point.

No I don't think so.

Sumlin has a good offense. You saw what he was doing down in Houston.

I'm more interested in seeing if he can coach when the pressure is really on. He blew it against Southern fricking Miss when he had Houston set for a perfect season.

The pressure wasn't all that high against Bama to be honest. If he lost nobody would have been shocked.

before you say "it's Iowa State", their current coach has actually taken them to bowl games the past couple years, this is a terrible comparison

Paul Rhoads has just merely expounded on the foundation that Chizik laid.

He already had one foot out the door when UH lost that game.

That's why he signed a 7 year extension.

And recruiting looks good before kids play, but lets see what they do throughout their careers. Still have to coach these cats.

There is literally no excuse for that game. This one especially is a poor excuse.

Because its unheard of for a university to buy out their coaches contract. Ask A&M

If LSU starts having seasons like A&M then his days are numbered.

What about when he lost to:

Air Force (twice)
Marshall
Rice (twice)
UTEP
UCF (twice)
East Carolina
Tulsa
Southern Miss (twice)

?

What does the Clemson LSU game have to do with Sumlin?

what a terrible comparison... Chizik had a terrible head coaching record before Auburn, where as Sumlin was a proven winner at Houston. Chizik's coordinator record may be a little more impressive than Sumlin, but not by much (if any).

And Sumlin is the brains behind that offense... chizik was a defensive coach with a terible defense all four years. Nothing suggests Sumlin and A&M are slowing down at all.
