This is key. Basketball school fanbases have tournament rivals. Football school fanbases don’t have that yet. Maybe if the playoffs expand.

Speaking as a KU fan...Kentucky is most certainly talked about on KU boards a lot and vice versa. Same with Duke and UNC.

Shhh. They’re desperately trying to make this “rivalry” relevant based on Barnes record vs Cal. It’s what happens when you don’t have much to look forward to in the NCAA Tournament I guess.

Yeah, I'd say so. In terms of teams I hate they're second behind Mizzou and I don't think I'm alone in thinking that
We've played 7 times in the last 9 years too which helps.

Some of them have egos so inflated that they'd rather give the title of "rivals" to teams they don't even play yearly, instead of the team to which they have lost 7 times in the last 5 years.
