The dude that originally created that graphic on Twitter is 100% one of those "I'm an insider" but is rarely right.
I'm not saying we didn't open up the pocketbook this season, but that kind of shite gets super inflated in social media.

Elite coaches don’t need 5 star players at every position to compete. Dan Hurley is a shining example of this.
So, is it your opinion that a man who can get 5 stars at every position isn't an elite coach?
Hate that you made me defend the Big Baby Network.

UK fans you'll just have to embrace the hate. It's not like you're doing anything illegal.
It's just eye opening that you're spending around what Ohio State paid for it's natty in football.. except for 13 players not 85. So expect it to come up a lot.
It is what it is though. I'm sure this will eclipsed soon in coming years by another team lol.

Ahh, gotcha. Just saw it this morning with no context.

For real though - is a national championship (if you even won it) worth $20 million dollars?
What kind of return do you get from a national chanpionship? 'Bragging rights' doesn't count as a tangible return.

Yeah, this is extremely inflated and not accurate at all. The people who put this out are wannabes and putting stuff out like this is why they stay wannabes.

Not the same for basketball. Football is different, you have to stock up on as much talent as possible because it’s a numbers game

I mean we’re Kentucky. If anyone should spend money for a trophy it’s us I guess. Our number one booster paid $10.5mm for a honey baked ham last Christmas. You think he’s gonna let us get beat out on a recruit because of money? Doubtful. I guess it is what it is these days until they get it under control.

OSU had one of the most expensive football rosters last season stocked with 5 stars.
That was spent on retaining talent that was already there. And football is different from basketball in that you need to stockpile talent due to it being a manpower game.

It’s absolutely worth it.
Also pretty sure statistics show when your school wins a NC in a major sport it also supports increased enrollment.

We are used to it. But I think those numbers are highly inflated.

You say a championship is worth $20 million.
Mind you, I'm talking real return on investment, not intangible 'feel good' shite.
Show me the money. For real. Deets, please.

More than 10 but well less than 20 per Matt Jones. Could be the highest but not by much. The 20 million is speculation by those not in the know.

They're getting paid 20 million, not the same as being worth 20 million.
