He wanted to beat Saban and didn't care about anything else. He probably didn't even expect to his first year but the dynamic duo of Golding and O'Brien worked their magic.

Saban was to blame as well going for multiple 2-pt tries instead of kicking the extra point. Without him doing that, Kelly may have been fired even sooner.

I mean LSU fans (and indeed other fans of other teams supposedly) had zero issues with all kinds of uncalled for criticisms of Bama when Saban legit resigned and then a few days later we hired DeBoer. It was a much bigger mad house during that time than now if you’ll recall

Knee-jerk reaction and exactly why they won’t win another NC for a long time.
