Well he's going to have to play WR for auburn because we aren't getting him.
Glad to see you got the joke

That is crazy, a southern boy committed to Bama now changing to California. This is taking on a U$C aroma.

Not really that surprising considering Gabe King, who is one of his best friends lives in Oregon now and is going to Cal and Chris McCain, who is committed to Oregon might go there as well

Cal's D class could be amazing.

Possibly.
Will be curious to see if KA prefers WR when he signs with Cal.

sounds like all of you guys are conceding Allen to Cal. Interesting.

Even with Allen at possibly WR, the front 7 is very strong.
Top 3 LB class for sure.
Top 3 LB class for sure.

I hope Keenan has fun going 8-5, 9-4 every year. He's never going to win anything of significance at Cal.

the whole thing is just odd to say the least. Not us losing out on him, I expected that, at least to some extent, but in one weekend they go from a Clemson/Alabama battle to not only Allen going to Cal but his whole family moving out there with him
WTF. One weekend?I know he obviously had considered them before, enough to have a visit set up but geezus that must have been an amazing visit. Especially since one of the supposedly main reasons Maynard wanted to leave Buffalo was it was too far away. Well I guess that's fixed, lets just move to California. Bizarre.

don't be that guy. most other SEC fans were saying this about Bama's '08 recruiting class

Hopefully he will at least man up and let our coaches know tonight instead of Wednesday when he signs a LOI with another school.

What guy? I don't think they paid him, or at least have no reason to think so. They may have helped set his parents up with a job but I don't know if there's technically anything wrong with that. I just think the whole things bizarre, considering he wanted to go to Oregon but it was too far away. Just all seemed very quick.

I agree with you, Crede, something about this whole thing is odd. That's why I'm not sure about KA going to Cal. I'm sure we'll all know something tonight.

oh, ok
I'm not bitter as its not unexpected (him not coming to Alabama I mean), but the whole thing is just a bit of a bizarre situation. The Cal thing is shocking, although technically I'd much rather go to school at Cal than Clemson.

Completely different situations. Saban was a proven national championship winning coach at an elite program that has fallen from grace. Cal is the South Carolina of the Pac 10. Tedford's teams always play well at the beginning of the year and usually hold their own against top competition. However, their annual meltdown in the second half always prevents them from winning anything of significance.

Why Cal? If Allen wanted to play on the west coast so badly, go to a top program like Oregon. Decommitting to play for a mediocre program 3000 miles away is a slap in the face.
