The fact that you’ve commented so many times clearly shows that you do.

Basketball is all about the tournament. That's where the money is.

KU knows it needs to get better at football in order to be relevant. That's what drives budgets and the direction of college sports as a whole. I don't know if they can, and frankly, it's not of that much interest to me. Either they do or don't.

But there are scenarios where some kind of combination of the Big 10/SEC make a play for the NCAA tournament, determining who gets to join them and what the payouts look like in the indeterminant future. If that becomes part of the calculus I could see KU gaining more importance. But that's ridiculously speculative on my part. Also, I don't know how much ESPN values KU as a live content product versus Virginia Tech. VT's 4.5 million eyeballs comes at a time when ESPN has other product they can put on the air, whereas KU's 2 million might come at a time of relative paucity when it comes to live sports programming, so it might be more valuable than it otherwise would be.

But I'm not saying that declaratively. I don't actually know. It's just a hypothetical.

This is entertaining for me. You amuse me. So in that sense, I do care. I do care that you make me laugh.

The tournament earns the NCAA a fortune, but not the conferences. If they cut the latter out, then basketball income could be huge for the leagues.

I think when it is all said and done, Duke, KU, and UNC will be in the P2.

Is Kansas basketball a bigger brand than Va/VT football?

You Horns just aren't going to be happy until you have completely destroyed the big 12.

Big 12 is fine. The big 12 champions were one play away from beating Texas in the playoff.

I say no to Kansas. They're a Union state. Yanks.

Any assortment of VA schools, or Clemson, or Miami, or Florida State would be much better.

Hell to the no on Kansas.

I'd say Clemson and FSU are actually in the Deep South. However, there are already so many great teams in the SEC that I simply don't want to play more games that are maybe a 50/50 chance at a W or a L. We are good where we are at. Do not need anymore good teams. Let them join the Big 10, even at that point, they still may not equal the SEC.

I hate how the Big 10 is suggesting SEC and them get same AQs in a 16 team format or 28 team dumb one they made. SEC has 500% the amount of natis as Big 10 last 20 years. SEC had 11 of top 17 recruiting classes of 2025. Big 10 had 4 of top 17 classes of 2025 recruiting rankings. They still aren't there.

Texas, Missouri, A&M, and OU are here. I know a lot of y'all boys don’t frick with that, some days I don’t either. But here we are. Puppets to ESPN. If this thing goes even bigger, assuming North Carolina is the first add and the Florida/SC schools are off the table, go Kansas. We’re already the best Football and Baseball conference. Add UNC/Kansas, now you’re legitimately THE basketball conference as well. Kansas has more money to spend athletically than 85% of the SEC, they’re loaded. They’re overhauling athletic facilities across the board. They’re pushing the boundaries of Southern, but there’s enough familiarity with the western SEC schools to aid the transition. If you can’t land FSU/Clemson, give me Kansas over the Virginia schools. I’d argue Kansas has just as much upside as UNC in the SEC.

How did you think this thread would go?

Are you going to flash your Wagner score next week too? I bet you'll score even more than 31.
