Quote from today's press conference by DC Kane Wommack when asked if he would take out a guy who isn’t giving full effort: "...that (effort) did not show up on Saturday. We’re going to allow our players to get it fixed.”

LINK

Every time I hear these odd quotes from this staff I first want to assume they didn't mean it like it sounds. But there is a consistent pattern of statements reflecting a passive approach to nearly everything. Instead of "we can be a good football team and we will fix this" it's "I choose to believe we are a good football team." Instead of "elite effort is not optional in this program" it's "We are going to allow our players to get it fixed."

WTF is going on? Are they begging to be fired?

If this doesn’t scream “Got paid. Don’t care,” I don’t know what does.

What you are saying is for me to take my Saturdays back and not waste time watching this trainwreck?

Coddling players so they don’t get pissed and leave isn’t going to work. If they give poor effort then yell at them and run them. If they leave then so what, you saved money from having to pay a problem kid next year.

Kalen DeBoer on Alabama's lack of effort at FSU and how to combat it:

"They're great kids. They have high character."

I am proud of how they handled adversity. They're a great football team.

Nice things to say I guess but Bama fans want results. Going to be a miserable few years for this coaching staff.

Look, I've stayed out of the whole decline narrative and want to wait to see what DeBoer can do. But, if I'm a Bama fan, this scares the frick out of me.

A few more gems:

Who on defense would be leading this "fix"?: “Every player on our defense right now.” Oh so since our HC and DC won't be leading, and the defense has no leader, the whole damn team will lead themselves.

On mobile quarterbacks: “I think there’s a pattern right now." No shite.

On what FSU did offensively: “We were not surprised by anything. We were prepared for a number of things they were doing.”

One interesting (and I think encouraging) quote from Ryan Grubb on receiver effort: “How I look at it is, I just start with Germie Bernard. That’s what it’s supposed to look like ... His desire and passion for the game ... if it’s not what Germ’s doing, it’s not good enough.” ... Grubb praised Lotzeir Brooks, Derek Meadows, Rico Scott who “played really, really hard.” “I think that room understands what it takes to win a football game.”

Notice who he did not mention. About time Ryan Williams gets put on notice.

OMG, is that a real quote?!

And they joke about BK slamming his fist on the desk and showing real emotion.

There’s nothing to burn bro. 7 championships since ‘92. We are a fat and happy fanbase that’s likely gonna get a lot of Saturdays back over the next 20 years.
