The ironic part is he's brought Ryan Grubb in as OC , the same guy who turned down Saban a few yrs back to remain in WA. The offense only returns 4 starters. A much tougher start to the schedule FSU, LA Monroe, Wisc. Georgia.

Bama fans know this in their heart of hearts which is extremely painful for them. When they miss the playoffs this season it is going to get extremely ugly. Feel bad for the The Bore family because of this.

You seem to be pointing out that Bama fans have very high expectations. Other fan bases might be satisfied with lesser results: they can tolerate the middle-of-the-road coach.

Kalen The Bore

Sounds like you've been on the short end of too many 29-point blowouts on the bayou. I was wondering why you couldn't find a cajun in Tiger Stadium at the end of the 3rd quarter. Turns out they were just bored.

Saban recruits that WERE SUITED TO PLAY IN SABAN'S SYSTEM.

Mediocre HC Terry Bowden took underachieving players recruited by Pat Dye and took AU to an undefeated season in '93. Mediocre HC Gus Malzahn took a listless team of Gene Chizik recruits and marched them to a National Title game appearance in '13. In both cases players had to learn/implement new systems.

Excuses excuses...

Which fanbases are these? I doubt you're referring to the probable programs listed in the top 10 rankings entering this season

Not really. Gus Malzahn had been y'all's offensive coordinator from 2009-11 so his scheme was very familiar to Auburn's offensive roster. Terry Bowden kept both of Pat Dye's coordinators in position after he was hired. So both coaches brought very familiar schemes to Auburn or kept the same schemes in place.

Nice try.

It must be nice being Auburn; just enjoying the occasional miracle.

They're mediocre now! Their coach doesn't know what he's doing! The program is headed downhill! They... beat us 42-13 at our house. Never change, LSU fans. Never, ever change.

Leaving out some very large details aren’t ya BuB ?

Malzahn recruited the majority of that offense while he was the OC under Chizik.

I'm saying anyone expecting the train to just keep rolling while acknowledging scheme changes on both sides of the ball are morons.

Remember what Brian Kelly said when he was hired?

"Judge me on Year 3."

Why did he say that?

He didn't say that, it's a myth.

It was something more along the lines of year 3 would be the first year where they had the pieces in place to compete.

Regardless of the verbiage used, the point is the same.

Kelly overhauled LSU's program. He hired new staff members with differing schemes than Orgeron.

DeBoer did the same.

Every head coach would ask their fan base to be patient when taking over a program.

Heard he was already receiving death threats for missing the playoffs last year. Miss the playoff again and he may die falling up a flight of stairs

What? That doesn't make any sense. Mizzou ended up being ranked higher than LSU in the final poll in the last two years. I am laughing at LSU fans for hiring Kelly and that LSU fans still believe he can win a championship at LSU.

Yet LSU is far more respected than you. Swap schedules and LSU is in the playoffs, you couldn’t. You need to stop this nonsense.

Threads like this are why this board just kind of sucks now. It’s not even clever trolling or trash talk, just lazy troll attempts.

Brian Kelly at LSU - .725

Eli Drinkwitz at Mizzou - .613
