In other countries she would have been executed for being a lesbian.
In this country, she completed enough education to become a teacher and got a job, then was recognized and awarded for her performance, and got a free trip to a very expensive event where she protested the country that afforded her those opportunities.
In the future, the organizers of events like this should ask if any award recipients plan on using the event to show what an ungrateful miserable arse they are, and scratch those names off the list.

I guarantee she is a strong member of her local teachers union. A union that allows subpar teachers to keep their jobs and does not push paid maternity leave for its members. A union that doesn’t fight for better heath coverage for its members, where some have to pay as much as $900 a month for family coverage when they are making less than 3K a month. They are a woman dominated workforce that is taken advantage of because they are woman and the union supports other liberal causes. I say this as a husband of a career teacher.

I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a note from her local education board. As educators in some states we are instructed not to publicly comment on political matters on social media.

Until nobody gives a shite and doesn't mention it at all they keep doing it, like they are accomplishing anything. She's a teacher from Minnesota and the fact I know about her here in Georgia is the problem

Just because all those things above are true doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement in America, it doesn't mean that certain groups in Society are treated as fairly as they should be

The big problem that this country has today are these people who think the 60s was a romantic era. They saw that the Vietnam War protest caused a early withdraw and think that that public protest is the only conduit to change. The problem is the public is numb to any protest in this country. We see the press showing a few hundred people from different camera angles and watch them label it as a massive protest. We watch people who aren't effected by the issue show up to experience this new "romantic era" of protest and the public is turned off. The people in Hong Cong are doing it for change in their lives. people in the US are doing it for self attention. The public is numb to it.
