Justin Hill and Desmond Umeozulu out this week

Just saw this. That sucks because we need these two. Hill doesn’t start but sees a lot of snaps. I seem to recall Umeozulu actually started last week.

They were both playing outstanding football last week.
The play where Latham got let on an island makes sense now, he was probably only in there because one or both of them were hurt.
Des probably can run with their QB or at least impact the angle enough for help to arrive, but Latham looked like a nose tackle trying to defend a RB screen or something.
Its going to impact our schemes and my guess is we see a lot of situational stuff get shifted. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see more LB groupings with Griffin in there for pressure while Thompkins stays more on the edge rather than shifting around inside as he was doing previously.
Latham simply cant be asked to do what those two would've or Sellers will run right by him.

Yeah, ready or not I think we will see more of Griffin. We really don't have any other options with athleticism behind Pierre. At least for this game, you're going to need someone with speed on the backside to account for the QB run option.

Any idea the nature of their injury and how long they will be out?

Dez is turf toe, so he could be out 3 weeks or the rest of the season. Hill is just defined as “lower extremity” but expected out 2-4 weeks
