My whole point is that every big school’s schedule is a wash dependent on how the team performs years down the line. LSU and Bama are constantly playing these neutral opener games. Texas just had a home and home with you guys. LSU played FSU when they were worth a shite, now they suck.
All you can do is schedule a big name and hope they are still good.

BK couldn't beat Alabama the same year Vandy did. Got beat so badly by Alabama he actually said "If you're watching the game, you're like what did these guys(LSU) do for two weeks".
Hell, BV with his shitty arse offense was able to copy it and score more points than LSU.

DEI stands for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Or as I like to say, didn't earn it.
They specifically expanded the playoffs to 12 teams to increase the diversity of teams in the playoffs because some conferences were upset they weren't included in the 4 team playoff every year while conferences like the SEC got 2.
They also gave the G5 a guaranteed spot regardless of where they are ranked. Meaning, regardless on if they actually deserved to be there or not, which is equity. Of course, the AQ status does this as well.
It is DEI in every way. If it was meritocracy, you just take the 12 best teams or whatever number.
How else do you think Boise St gets the #3 seed and a bye week. Didn't Earn It. DEI.
