I'm not the biggest Miles fan but I think Les may actually be much smarter than he seems. He is goofy but that doesn't necessarily mean he's dumb. Odd things have happened too many times here to believe it's all just coincidence.

Miles is the shite. He comes off as a tard, but he's a complete bad arse.

So wait... He's talking to him about the offense (which he admits he doesn't know) or what? Like how to run a defense?

FWIW - I feel (and most of my Nole friends agree) that Muschamp was a damn good hire. And Weiss(sp?) as OC - coaching all that talent and speed - is downright scary.

And all this BEFORE the season starts? Wow... Guess were doomed.

What cracks me up is the OP takes his friends opinion that's Foley's bitch, at a higher value than Foley himself.
Especially before any games have been played under him.

We hope so. Things should get interesting with Jimbo at FSU and Muschamp at UF. Hopefully between us we can edge UM off the map completely.

you certainly are proving you don't have intelligence by this statement. you have absolutely no idea of how inaccurate you are. comments on his public speaking ability; fair game. but his intelligence?

Foley made a safe hire in Muschamp, I wouldn't call it the OMG brilliant move of the year. Muschamp is a damn good coach, but most, including the folks at UT think the UF and UT job was too big for him.
And he's not conferring w/ Weiss about x's and o's, he's getting opinion on shite that CUM, Miles, and Saban would spit out in their sleep. I just think Mus is another Zook, good coach but UF isn't the job to cut your teeth with.

Could you provide us with an example?

The only great thing about the OP was the hiney in the avatar pic
WM has been with saban and mack... I'd be surprised if he doesn't know how to run a real program

Agree. I think people really overrated a couple year's of head coaching experience at some crappy mid-major or directional program. I'd hire him over Dooley 7 days a week and twice on Sunday to run a major program, despite having having gotten his feet wet in Ruston, LA. That is just one example.

sure hasnt seemed to hurt chizik
Chizik had 2 years to cut his teeth as a head coach. The results speak for themselves although UF talent> Iowa State talent. Still 5-19.
Personally I was shocked Florida took a gamble on a coordinator with no HC experience from outside the program, and then paid him a ton of money on top of it as if he was being recruited as a HC by all the SEC schools.
It was a stretch....................
And it may work out, but will they be patient with the growing pains?

They took a gamble on one of the best coordinators in college football having worked with two of the best college coaches alive.
Yeah, huuuuuuge gamble...
Who else was out there that was worth a shite and wanted to move?
I thought it was a pretty good get.
Zook was a reach. 5th choice. Muschamp was a calculated risk.

I agree. Good hire by Florida. Sure they could have hired this year's hot-name from a mid-major and it turned out to be another Urban Meyer----OR he could have been one of the many that can't cut it at a big-time job.
And IMO, Muschamp asking Weis for "advice" feeds his ego and doesn't hurt. He can learn a lot (even from Weis' mistakes or what he'd do in hindsight if in charge). As each year goes, by that "other stuff" that is new to coaching will become easy for Muschamp. Only an idiot would be a flop at Florida right now and I don't think Muschamp is an idiot. He'll be fine.

I like boom. I think he can be successful.
But working under good HC's as a coordinator doesn't equal good HC out of the gate.
Florida is a big name program, not a program where new HC's cut their teeth. I was just surprised they went with an unproven commodity, that's all.
It's not like the position of head coach at UF is a situation where the university has to take a gamble.
