No, it isn't. You have kids signing contracts and then entering the transfer portal. Why do you think that is? Duke is suing their QB for doing so. Tampering is exhaustive everywhere and the courts will do nothing to stop any of it.
A donor spending outlandish amounts of money on a school (legal by ncaa rules) IS totally different than a head coach contacting an athlete who's not in the portal and sending them inducements to leave (not legal by ncaa rules).

All this is almost a week old. Well before the weather event.

None of this is legal. Not remotely. The NCAA is completely spineless and won't do anything for fear of being sued by the kid and losing in court once again.
If the courts would back the NCAA up it might be different

When did he hold the press conference?

If the ncaa doesn't do anything of substance they might as well close up shop and declare that cfb is now the wild wild west.

Not sure, but the video was posted on the 23rd.
I heard it today on SiriusXM college sports radio.

SMU was given the death penalty for this shite years ago, but now it is just another day in CFB

You’re right, honestly it’ll bite ole miss in the arse down the road if the ncaa doesnt do anything. Ole miss doesnt have big boy money like Tex atm osu Mich nd etc. and if nothing is done you just gave the real big money schools(not ole miss) carte blanche

3 days ago. They knew what was going down prior to the press conference.

Kids jump into the portal with a destination in mind. How many kids jump into the portal and commit to another school within hours? 90% of these kids have been "tampered" with. Nobody's roster is safe.
Do you really think it is a coincidence that Seaton jumped in the portal at the last minute. I can GUARANTEE you that LSU, Miami, Oregon, etc all had contact with him prior to entering the portal. Those schools are just much better at what used to be cheating.
I think the NCAA should do something but they won't. It will be another case that they lose with the liberal courts for interfering with the kids' NIL.

The Supreme Court might have castrated the NCAA but you can bet the coaching community is going to start enforcing its own set of rules. I’m sure there is an honor code in place for how and how not to do things and Pete just broke it. Dabo wouldn’t be coming out publicly otherwise. Pete’s got a target on his back now.

Fair enough. Like I said the NCAA will do nothing. I love the Universities starting to sue their players for jumping into the portal at the last minute. With signed contracts for NIL.
Otherwise, it is just about who has the wealthiest billionaires. CFB needs a collective bargaining agreement badly.

The kids aren't smart enough it's the agents. The agents are identifying needs and communicating with schools because they get paid with every new deal.
Posted on 1/26/26 at 6:29 pm to Rougarou12
Most of these agents couldn't be classified as "smart" either.

Listen to the last 3-4 mins of Dabo's presser. He speaks exactly to that.
