Two camps: Either twisting themselves in pretzels that it didn’t matter or straight up denying he was in bounds.

0% of them admit it was an INT & pivotal turn in the game.

3down10 has come up with an elaborate explanation that Jones touched the ball while out of bounds before Peterson caught it.

However Peterson possesses the ball before Jones touches it, and Jones jumped from in bounds / is airborne when he touches the ball (meaning by rule he was also technically in bounds regardless).

Call on the field was that Peterson caught the ball out of bounds, was ruled “inconclusive” to overturn on replay, and notably comms went out during the review.

Slow-mo replays and various angles / rewinds:

That was an interception, but the camera angles weren't conclusive. The call was incomplete.

This interception that people are crying about 17 years later is about as bad as the interception call against Alabama last night.

The no-PI last night was one of the most egregious calls ive ever seen in cfb. Basically the same level as the Saints/Rams no-call

Ultimately it didn't matter. When LSU got the ball back, they threw an interception and the game was over.

But technically, it was an incomplete pass for reasons people never realize. Peterson is in bounds so if you only look at it from that perspective, it would be an interception.

However, the reality is that when the ball touches anything that is out of bounds, including a player, then the ball is out of bounds and the play is over at that point.

And Julio touched the ball while being out of bounds before PP caught it and/or before he got his foot down.

So incomplete pass is the actual correct call.

Your image is good because it shows how far Julio had bounced out when PP caught it and got his foot down.

Here are the images where Julio is out of bounds.

And this is Julio touching the ball before the image in the OP.

Almost as egregious as calling tyler simmons offsides when the video was clear that he was not but not one bitchass Bama fan complained about that call.

Bad calls only matter when they're against the mighty Tide.

Brother, y'all wouldn't have even been in the game if not for an egregious hold, that wasn't called, on your first TD. Secondly, the Dawgs had a TD taken away because of a phantom holding call. Bama lost because they got outplayed. But, despite that, you're still very much in the game, if your retarded player doesn't throw a punch and seal the game away.

Stop crying. It's pathetic.

That was not a hold. Watch the play instead of the single frame images.

The lineman was pushing into the defender and driving his feet the entire time. It's not holding to block someone from the side like that.

The defender was able to get so deep because he wasn't being held. The lineman was preventing him from getting inside, but couldn't stop his momentum.

You see it more often on the edge when a defender tries to speed around. But it's the same thing. A block in the side is 100% legal.

the officiating did stink yesterday, mostly in favor of bama. But it was crappy all around.

I couldn't care less though considering the novel's worth of frickings we've gotten against bama at the hands of refs so maybe this is good for them. Kirby has 2 more titles with even halfway competent officiating. I'm actually glad the game went down like it did so they can experience what dozens of other teams have over the last 20 years against bama.

2023 SEC championship game. Late second quarter. 4th down at midfield pass to Isiah bond called complete and not reviewed. The ball clearly hit the ground on replay. Bama would go on to score and take a 17-7 lead. If they review the play, it was clearly not caught. The ball hit the ground. Georgia gets the ball back at midfield with a minute and change left. Down 10-7. They may score, they may not. But they don’t go down 17-7 in a game they end up losing by one possession.

Replay clearly showed Isiah Bond did not catch the ball. They didn’t even review it. The October game between unranked Oklahoma and Texas had about 10 reviews in the final 5 minutes but the SEC championship game doesn’t have one? Hmm. Strange.

That’s why I think it’s the funniest thing on earth bama fans are finally dealing with what everyone else has now that saban is gone.

Hilarious to see Bama fans complaining about the refs. That's how you know the decline is real.

Not only was everything against yall, but the things you did wrong actually weren’t against the rules. Yall are front runners for victim of the conference.

Literally “Hooking an arm around a defender who’s getting past the blocker” is holding. That’s what’s happening. Full stop. You HAVE to stop thinking yall were perfect all game
