Just how bad is the Covid outbreak at Ole Miss to duck A&M this week?

Mississippi State played both Georgia and Ole Miss with under 50 scholarship players due to contact tracing and covid protocols. Right before this happened Ole Miss accused state of trying to duck them and cancel the Egg Bowl.

Now the shoe is on the other foot they are the ones canceling a marquee matchup vs a top 10 team in Texas A&M.

Just how many cases does Ole Miss have, and why arent they trying their best to get this game in? If memory serves me right even Kiffin acted as if he would play anybody with the guys that he had healthy

I think the situation at Ole miss is bad. And it sounds like it was the doctors that made this decision. Not the AD or football program.

Ags had to delay the original due to 'rona and now the Rebs are stricken.

Kiffin though he had it and was sweating the game for a minute but later learned he caught a different kind of infection.

Ole Miss would play if authorities would allow it. OM doesn't have a playoff spot to try and hang on to. Ole Miss also played a minimal amount of players in the egg bowl (including walk-ons).

I don't really know if it hurts us at all. A win wouldn't help us though. Someone in the top 4 has to lose for us to get in whether we play Ole Miss or not.

Al, always a day late and a dollar short. Good effort though.

I'm just curious just how bad is this Ole Miss outbreak? 2 or 3 positive cases?

Still contract tracing from last Monday or Tuesday. Do the math on that. Monday plus 2 weeks passes game day.

Lane was pissed because I’d you are positive you are back in 10 days. Contract tracing is 14. So you are better off getting it than not after you were around someone who was positive.

Must be pretty bad because I think Ole Miss would beat A&M.

I'm old enough to remember Arkansas and Auburn fans saying the same thing.

I am hearing we have at least 17 positive cases. This is not a situation where we are "ducking" the game.

Rumor from the 247 site is that last Sun - Mon (a week ago) they had around a dozen players and staff / I think more staff than players...but no starters were out...that changed later in the week, evidently some starters tested positive - but they never said how many...MS Dept of Health recommended the shutdown

I think you also thought SCar would beat A&M too?

A&M would eat up too much clock and wear them down especially after getting some stops.
