If you went to the SECCG + all 4 rounds of the playoffs, 2 people, the total cost would be roughly $3,500 for the mid priced seats you generally end up being forced to take
. And just tickets, not travel costs or anything else.
That's like 200 suitcases of Bush Light man!

If you need 200 cases of beer, you go straight to the distributor, not the beer store.

Not sustainable for the average fan. That's ridiculous

Obviously the most important year of this century and will not be topped.

I'll be pretty interested to see what crowds look like at the Quarterfinal and Semifinal games. On campus games will be a zoo and the Championship game (especially when it's in a place like Atlanta) will be packed. But that quarterfinal round, depending on who is there and which stadiums games are in, might be a bit underwhelming.

Also a lot of fans do travel from out of town to see games and set that up months in advance. Not really a viable option for those fans if they don't even know if their team will be in it the next week. Especially for that amount of money. People aren't going to commit to that.

Yep - and it's not only 1 of those, now it's 2 of those (not even including a possibly road trip to a 1st round road game - which would make it 3).
Just not sure how sustainable this is in terms of in-game experience for the middle rounds.

Hell, for some of the people in the stands for those things it's their first football game to attend all year and they haven't followed the season at all. I actually sat next to some people who match that description at the Sugar Bowl in '18. They were wearing Georgia gear simply because they thought they would win the game.

This. Those on campus games will be high demand...especially for decent matchups, but after that I think it'll be a big drop-off before the NC game in regards to in person demand.
They pretty much need to play every playoff game on the campus of the higher ranked team and then just rotate the NC game site.
The bowl system might as well be put out to pasture...traditions mean nothing...they've pretty much killed college football as the sport that was played for 125 years anyway.

Unless you know someone it’s illegal to do that in most states, you need an abc license to purchase from a distributor

I think it will be fine for the first year, but as you go out you will have less interest.
Hell a number of semifinal games in the 4 team era had issues with getting people to go

$$$ is Another reason the 12 team playoff is stupid. I thought the playoff people were smarter than the idiots that run the NCAA, but it seems they're just as stupid.
