Just a question since someone brought up UGA's OOC scheduling and "fear" of Clemson...

What do your teams look like OOC (non annual rival) in the coming years? I'm not calling you out, I honestly don't know.

UGA:
2019: Notre Dame comes to Athens
2020: Virginia in Atlanta (neutral site) I get that it's not a true neutral site.
2022: Oregon in Atlanta (neutral site) I get that it's not a true neutral site.
2024: vs. Clemson in Atlanta (neutral site)
2025 @ UCLA in the Rose Bowl
2026 UCLA comes to Athens
2027 @FSU
2028 @ Texas
2028 FSU comes to Athens.
2029 Texas comes to Athens
2029 @ Clemson
2030 Clemson comes to Athens.
2032 Clemson comes to Athens
2033 @ Clemson

Word is we are also in talks with OU for a home and home.

I wish we would schedule another P5 game even if a lower tiered team. At least UGA has Tech every year on top of your marquee OOC. 2011 was great when we played Oregon and West Virginia.

I think Smart is getting ahead of the curve and knows expansion is coming to 8 or maybe 12 to 16 teams by then.

Why do schedules need to be made out generations into the future?
Basketball can make up the upcoming season schedule over a summer. NFL the same.

The NFL's are done for them based on where they finish. The team that wins the SB is suppose to have the toughest non divisional schedule the next year or at least it was once like that.

The schools have to do this in college football outside of their conference. And college basketball? Man they can play a max of 31 regular season games, so it's pretty easy to schedule late.

Logistics are a bit more difficult for CFB teams traveling.70+ players, support staff and sometimes a band going to mostly small college towns and you also have to deal with sometimes changing conference schedules.

And a small window for P5 OOC games especially home and home.
That's why it's much easier to schedule nuetral site games...which I think are great for CFB but many oh here hate.

The NFL has 1 formula for all 32 teams to follow that are set up in identical pods under 1 umbrella.

NCAA doesn't have that.

UGA has been consistently strong in OOC scheduling of late

The ONLY unimpressive game on that list is UVA, still better than Duke though...

not a bad game, especially when coupled with CO

maybe the Buffs wind up being stronger by then, but Fresno is consistently a top 2nd tier program

I know how the NFL does it, and how it can be made easier.
My proposal would be to schedule all conference games from week 4-13 (9 game conference schedule, one bye week) and set all OOC games to be played in weeks 1-3.
This way, it will free up all the schools across the conferences to make scheduling much easier.
