re: Just a question since someone brought up UGA's OOC scheduling and "fear" of Clemson...

quote:not horrible & I like the idea of seeing conferences make deals that force home & home's based on last year's record (like NFL does)
I know how the NFL does it, and how it can be made easier.
My proposal would be to schedule all conference games from week 4-13 (9 game conference schedule, one bye week) and set all OOC games to be played in weeks 1-3.
This way, it will free up all the schools across the conferences to make scheduling much easier.
but I also love tradition; I'd hate to see teams like UGA, UF & USCe be forced to reschedule the traditional in-state rivalry games with GA Tech, FSU & Clemson

& what about UGA, UF, SC, & KY who play their ACC in-state rival the last game of the season?

"Force H&H based on last year record"?

"Force H&H based on last year record"?
conferences make their teams leave an open date that is unscheduled that alternates home and away every year
the opponent is decided based on last year's record and standing within the conference
#! SEC plays #1 B1G one year, #1 Pac12 the next and so on - teams are paired based on last year's results - similar to how the NFL makes schedules
it will never happen, but would lots of fun

Why do PAC-12 teams keep agreeing to these

Understood the idea, but you have 5 conferences, somebody will be left out.
Also, B12 is only 1 without divisions.
Last, conferences have different # of members, so who is left out that way? Is #10 B12 the same as #10 overall in the SEC...#14 in the SEC...#7 SEC E...#7 SEC W?

Well .... we play the sheep humping sister banging taterheads every year so, there’s that.
Difference is we’re not afraid of the toothless fricks like everyone else around here seems to be. We recognize the inbred jizz guzzlers for what they are .... cheating bastards. Their day is coming. The leaks are happening, it’ll soon turn into a deluge with them, it always does.
But we also play UNC, NC State, et al, on a regular basis.

Y'all seem to be embedded with that.
My compromise again is to play a 9 game conference schedule over the last 10 weeks of the season, providing a bye for each team. However, if your school wants to use that extra week for this OOC rival game, then that's OK, too.

They should fear putting clempsom on a clearly brutal schedule that includes vandy

All 4 of us are embedded in that. Hince why the 9 game conf. schedule topic is not an easy topic to solve (esp. all 4 being in the East).
However, your decision would also have to involve the ACC's input on their scheduling as well.

UGA, LSU, UT, and Auburn seem to always schedule good OOC opponents, who aren’t instate rivals. Florida is probably the worst with it.

Nor do they leave the state for those games.

SECE had 3 teams that finished in the top 12 last year.
MSU played 2 of 'em...how'd that work out?

It's your in-state rival...you have little choice but to play them.Just like UGA with GT,UF with FSU,etc
BTW we're 42-18 against em including a 24 pt victory in 2014.

i agree. but how neutral is atlanta for out of state teams ? heck, even Ga.Tech would be outnumbered 3,4 to 1 playing UGA. northern teams say the same about traveling south of the Mason-Dixon line, and southern teams moan about cold weather sites in the latter part of the season.

Not sure I understand the point.
Was it a neutral site when Auburn played Washington or when Bama plays Duke next year?Or when GT played UT?
If you're referring to UGA playing Clemson in '24 I imagine if both schools are playing at the same levels Clemson will bring a big a very loud and sizable contingent.
Its the premier CFB Kickoff game in the country and it's played in Atlanta. Are you suggesting UGA not play in it because it isn't a true "neutral site" for em?
BTW UGA has only played in 2 of em in 10 years and Bama has played in 4 of em I believe.
