I hope Namath allows GMAC to wear 12...

Oh Hell no!!

And this is no disrespect toward GMAC, I wish him well, but Namath and that #12 Jets jersey is too special.

I was born in Buffalo and moved to Sildell when I was 5. I've been a WHO DAT ever since. No matter how bad they were, I've always bleed Black and Gold!
I grew up an LSU fan and I wasn't a Bama fan until I went there in 93. It was so great in 2009 to finally see both teams take it all in the same year!
Your "Dome Patrol, Baby! made me smile, as I used to have the poster on my wall growing up. That bitch Katrina took it from me as well as all my memoriblia from my days at Bama.

The Tornado in T-Town really makes me remember the Katrina woes again.

I don't want GMAc to go asking for it, but if Namath goes out of his way and wants him to wear it, I don't have a problem.

I'm not too sentimental about jersey numbers...

Maybe, maybe not. The Falcons are right there, but UG has some work to do.

After Katrina, I'll never forget the 3 days I spent cleaning out my house with no power or waste facilities. I basically picked through my Bama memerobilia from school, one by one, and threw it all away.

I remember taking a break one day, sitting on the front porch and it hit me that I wasn't supposed to be trashing things! At that very moment, I was supposed to be inside Bryant Denney watching the Tide play on opening day.

What a depressing feeling.

With no power and really no means of living I fled to my friends house in T-town. That very next Saturday, even though my world at home was wreck, I got to see one of the greatest catches in Football history. Tyrone Prothro made the historic catch and I was there to see it. For a brief second, Katrina never happened and there were no cares in the world.
I went home a day later and the reality of life set in. As bad as it was for a long time, it wasn't long before life was somewhat normal again. And as time goes by, it's almost like nothing ever happened. Almost.

Please let you relatives know, that even though it's hard to fathom now, life will be normal sooner than expected! One day it will be better!

WHO DAT and RTR!

Maybe I'm too sentimental.

I don't know how old you are but when I was a kid playing football(the sixties) Broadway Joe was THE shite. I had his jersey, white shoes, a white watchband. Even before Super Bowl III he was THE MAN.
I know you're a Bama fan but if you weren't around for Namath's glory years you have no idea how much larger-than-life he was. Everyone knew his knees were worthless and he was a sitting duck in the pocket and defenses would blitz him and put extra pressure on him and he would just stand in the pocket and zip the ball to somebody. Nothing fazed him.'67, '68, '69, '70, he was just the coolest mother fricker on the planet.

If you weren't there you just don't know.

ETA: No disrespect but no way fricking way McElroy deserves that #12.

If i was Clausen I would tell him to eff himself. I would tell him if he wants #2 it would cost him $180K
