Little history lesson for you....New Orleanians needed a place to piss while driving through I-10 on our way to our beach houses in Florida, so we decided to stop off in Mobile, AL, and that's how it came to be. fricking dump.

Actually Mobile was the first capital of French Louisiana in 1702. New Orleans was founded in 1718.

So what happened since then?

We have NFL and NBA, and you have the Senior Bowl. We have Mardi Gras and international tourism, and you have the USS Whatever. We have bridges and you have a broken a$$ tunnel.

Sounds like your politicians are worse than ours, if you ask me.

wouldn't a broken a$$ tunnel be flooded? The NBA, NFL, and international tourisim are great and all, but your comparing apples and oranges. Mobile and New Orleans are two very different types of towns...both have advantages and disadvantages. You are a braver man than I am living in a town with that murder and crime rate.

Yeah, I know about Mobile's claim to Mardi Gras.

The rest of the free world recognizes New Orleans as the place for Mardi Gras.

Mobile Mardi Gras and The Bear are dead.

Once again, the Gumps are insanely delusional.

The Mobile guy rips on Louisiana and then doesn't like the response, and then plays the apples-and-oranges card.

NOLA is alive and well, and you only get in trouble if you're looking for trouble when you're here. Like ANY other major city in America, it has its problems but 99% is drug dealer-on-drug dealer gang crime. The other 1% is dumb asses walking down dark streets in a major American city.

Actually the definition of delusional is an unshakable belief in something untrue. Bama scoop stated a fact when he said Mardi Gras originated in Mobile. Whether or not you believe it to be dead is irrelevant.

You got it from the French dumb arse. Now y'all are going to claim Mardi Gras like national championships. Hell, get a fricking t-shirt made for Christ's sake. The actual origin of Mardi Gras in America is fuzzy at best. Most say near N.O. in 1699. Mobile Chamber of Commerce claims it was there in 1702.

The fact is that if you asked 100 random Americans about Mardi Gras, NONE of them would ever mention Mobile. Whether it's true or not is irrelevant. No one travels the US to come to Mobile for their sorry version of Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is New Orleans', and everyone in the world celebrates it as such (except in Mobile).

Stop hijacking this thread, and let's talk about Scoop's hometown some more.
