A highly motivated, quality opponent while we had guys sitting out is still far more relevant than what happened in 2018.
2020 in general is a throw away year thanks to Covid. Games were rescheduled last minute or canceled, tons of guys sat out, entire teams just stopped playing.
Daniels 2018 stats were him in a solid proven system with better coaches than he has now, with better talent more familiar with the scheme at the skill positions. And Daniels just couldn’t preform. A year of rehab for his knee and facing better defenses didn’t make him better.
At the end of the day he lacks mobility, is out of sync with either the WR/play calling or lacks accuracy. Dude was considered on par with Trevor Lawrence in that 2018 signing class. Have you seen anything at all to justify that comparison?

Is this how you admit he played good?
But did he? One ok game, one good game, and one suspect game. I know it’s been awhile since UGA has seen great QB play but that wasn’t it. In fact to date in 2 years of playing college football dude has had 2-3 good games, and at best 1 against a good team (a loss to Notre Dame).
Dude looks like an average to slightly below average SEC QB. His arm is accurate for short to intermediate throws but he hangs the deep ball. He has zero pocket presence which makes sense as he isn’t very mobile. His strength looks like it’s his presnap reads and reading a defense. Basically Jake Fromm with a pass oriented OC.

Yes, removing your bias, here are the Passer ratings per sec game:
197
188
164
Of course all that seems to matter to you is How he played in the pac 12 as a high school senior though.

Daniels QBR UofSC 59 Mizzou 91 MsSt 96.8
Gitmo QBR UofSC 93 Mizzou 93 MsSt 99.1 (2019 stats)
Passer rating for Gitmo 193.9 161 260
respectively.
Don’t be too proud of stats against bad teams.

How many of those teams had winning records?

Alabama reloads every year.
quote:Agreed and they’re only getting stronger with a 5* QB on the way but they’re also breaking in a new QB.
Texas A&M is stronger than they have ever been
quote:I agree but O is stacking monster recruiting classes but our depth is still lacking. We were gutted by the draft 2 years ago and then had a ton of deflections like Arik Gilbert, Eric Taylor and the RB we signed. Also have a 5* QB on the way and while we should be good- 2022 looks like the year we can make a real run.
I expect LSU to snap back very strong
quote:We agree again but you’re forgetting one thing- Oklahoma and Texas are on the way and in all likely hood that’s going to push Bama into the East. Now it’s a whole new ball game.
The East, I agree will be weak again, but probably no more than usual.
I very well could be wrong but I am putting money on y’all to win it all this year. I think y’all hold the trophy at the end of the year honestly but my biggest question is Kirby.
When it gets tight and the chips are on the table will be go for the throat or resort to his old tactics and try to ground snd pound.
If he has to make a big move (Fromm and Fields 2018) will he have the sack to do it?
Do or die was poorly phrased. I meant to construct more of a “if not now, then when?” Argument

Yeah, Clay Helton is definitely one of the best coaches in the nation. Tee Martin is an amazing OC. So amazing that Pruitt wouldn't even allow him to coach.
Gtfoh with this shite.

There you go talking out of your arse again. Lawrence was considered one of the best all time prospects. No one was comparing those two.

This isn’t about being proud, but rather acknowledging good games, which you struggle to do. You always try to spin very good uga games into lesser performances, and it’s just dumb hate talking too much
Is it possible a bad qb can do well vs a bad team? Yes, but just because gitmo misled you doesn’t mean JTD will do the same.

I hope you are right, but they just seem to keep coming on with big talent. Keeping my fingers you are right, though.
quote:True. After Fromm's feshman year (2017) I just don't put a freshman QB down as a huge hindrance. If they are smart, they rely heavily on their ground game (Spiller) until the QB can get up to speed.
Agreed and they’re only getting stronger with a 5* QB on the way but they’re also breaking in a new QB.

I bow to your superior knowledge of LSU./ Just seems like LSU has become like Alabama. MAYBE an occasional down year, but reload every year.

Actually plenty of comparisons were made between Lawrence and Daniels. Same class, comparable recruiting rating and expectations. The hype in that 2018 class was very real. Lawrence 1) Fields 2) and Daniels 3). And now UGA will have had 2 of the 3 suit up for them. One wasn’t allowed to play because Kirby doesn’t like Black QBs, and the over hasn’t lived up to the hype.

Martin is not ready to call his own O, much like Monken in that regard. Hilton’s O have produced, you are not disputing that I hope

For all the hype, he was just okay in 2018 and got out played by a true freshman after his injury. We still don’t really know how good he is.
Posted on 8/8/21 at 11:23 pm to dawgman15
He hasn't done shite yet. We will see about him this season.

We don’t know what we have with him but we know what he is capable of, and that’s good enough for now. We will see what the season brings.

The guy ahead of Daniels in the 2018 class signed with UGA and wasn’t given a fair shot. A transfer that was considered a preseason heisman candidate was never given a fair shot. The other black QB was not prepared to start and passed over. While a white less gifted QB was played over them every time. In fact there are no black QBs on the roster today correct?
At least that’s what it looks like to the rest of the world.
