Pate was saying this back during the playoffs but didn't name teams. I got the feeling though it was both Georgia and Tennessee.

College sports has the worst professional model in all of athletics, probably anywhere in the world.

Anyone who sits out of a playoff game to try and negotiate more $ is retarded. The NFL would not look kindly on someone who cares that little for the game and their draft stock would get destroyed
Whose to say they wouldn't sit out the NFL playoffs if it was their contract year and didnt want to risk injury? They get paid relatively peanuts for post-season games in the NFL

Mobsters, if not already, are going to get a hold of these kids or family, if they haven't already.
Money is to big now and there is absolutely no oversight, investigation arm, or enforcement with these players.

This thing is going to end with players being university employees. Then a players association will be created. Then collective bargaining will get multi-year contracts made.

I didn't vote for either. You idiots can't wrap your head around that most people in this country hate both sides.

There needs to be some sort of balance here. I know everyone on here, including me, think the NCAA is a bunch on overpaid dipshits that don't have a clue.
Somehow either the NCAA or the Commissioners of ALL D1 schools need to get together and figure this cluster out!
There needs to be RULES. Without rules there is chaos.
Put a cap on this crap. The NFL has one. Limit what they can make regardless. Hell, they didn't make a penny (legally) before this started.
Also, if there are off or on the field issues during the season...FINE them. Not just a slap on the wrist. MAKE IT FLIPPIN HURT!
And if they opt out of a game be it regular season, playoffs, or a bowl game. I would take at least 10% back for "Breach of Contract".
Hell, I'd go as far as if they hit the portal make them pay back the balance of what would have been owed to them.
College football is broken BAD. I have lost interest in the sport because it has become the minor league NFL.
Enough said. I'm going to watch the NCAA Baseball now.

I kind of chuckle at this. Players both then and now... got their "free education" in majors that would embarrass an art history major in terms of real earning power. Any advantage they got from their degree was due to name and networking.
