Yeah. Me and the rest of America. Just all butthurt over an irrlevant football program. That didn't even make the BCS last year with a Heisman winner.

How is that worthy of a suspension compared to this. He got in a fight. This is breaking a basic eligibility rule. Money.

based on information provided by Manziel, that did not happen in this case.

based on currently available information and statements by Manziel.

Like I say, the NCAA is not a dispenser of justice, its an economic cartel whose purpose is to protect the collective economic interests of the NCAA's schools and their business partners. And in this case there is a ton of money to be made by having the Heisman winner on the field, TV ratings etc to contemplate for his games vs Bama and LSU etc. In such cases, the NCAA will choose to believe the "information available" or "statements made" by whatever party is saying the things that best protect the economic interests of the NCAA.

On the other hand, in the Frank Haith situation, we've been waiting two years because the NCAA said it "didn't believe" the statements made by Haith even though it also acknowledged that there was no tangible evidence of wrongdoing on his part either. But the economic impact was not nearly the same, and the lead investigator and head of the NCAA enforcement division are both graduates of Mizzou's arch rival kansas, so in a stunner, the case has dragged on two years with no ruling and instead just letting the "Haith is under investigation" tag be used by other coaches and schools to recruit against us - for things that didn't even happen at Mizzou but at another institution. But yet when Manziel tells the NCAA that when he sat in his hotel room and signed autographs for hours on end it was done out of the goodness of his heart, the NCAA chooses to believe these statements and proclaim "nothing happened in this case." frick sake, just have one standard please and stick with it, is that too much to ask? Yes, of course it is when you're talking economic cartels. The facts of the situation and the truth and the just decision mean nothing at all here. Which is fine, but just don't act like there's anything other than that in play here, Ags. That's all this is.

This is blatantly just not giving a frick and giving the middle finger. I wouldn't even argue over evidence. The argument is weak.

We have proof of an assault. You have suspicion of a payment.

You can prove nothing but your butthurt. Remember, the NCAA doesn't need incontrovertible proof. It's not a courtroom situation. The preponderance of evidence suggests there was no payment.

Yet you wail from your computer keyboard and question the investigators who had access to more information that you will ever have.

Dismissed

So you think somebody is just going to sit there and sign their name 800 times with no payment. You're a backwoods fricktard and you wouldn't even do that- much less someone whose time is actually valuable.

Cajun revolution you clearly don't understand how a burden of proof works, there is ZERO evidence that he took any money, ZERO. It doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks happens, that's not how it works. It's about what you can prove, it is unreal how hard it is for some of you people to understand this very basic concept

Ain't that the goddam truth.

Based on whatever "information is available" at this moment. But let's not act like an investigation has been completed here or barely even started.

As I keep harping on above, it usually can take the NCAA a year, or two, or three to get its shite together and actually finish an investigation and accumulate "evidence." What matters is the economic impact of the situation at hand, and lots of big players were looking at losing lots of money in ratings if JFF was going to miss any long period of time this season. That's what mattered.

I have no problem with the Aggies for sticking up for him or using these economic realities to negotiate a settlement that saved their season. But let's not use terms like preponderance of the evidence as if they have any relevance to this agreement that was reached, cuz that stuff meant jack shite. What mattered was the economic impact.

If the circumstances were the same and this was some random QB at Grambling State, the kid's college career would be done and his life would be over, cuz the NCAA just doesn't put "rush orders" like this in for the regular Joes.
