Is there any specific knock against Cohen other than he coaches his pitchers to throw fastballs behind the heads of batters? But seriously, is he wanting to leave or just leaving before the door kicks him in his butt on the way out?

What?!
it is hard to recruit at the university of Florida.

Their UAA and administration want to be squeaky clean so they really restrict the football coaches.

Plus elite teams like UGA, Clemson, Bama, and Ohio state pluck all the talent from the state.

Even in state more students want to go to Miami (better location and program) and fsu (better program historically) than UF.

It’s why Mullen quit, and why Chip Kelly went to ucla instead of Florida. It’s also why Florida had to go into the bargin bin to hire billy Napier even though he begged both lsu and auburn for jobs and both schools didn’t even return his calls.

I’m indifferent. I don’t think he did a terrible job. I’m pissed he was the reason Vic left for Texas and it screwed up our girls BB program. But Lemonis was a good hire and so was Leach. I think Jans will be a good BB hire.

Honestly we aren’t any worse off. That’s about how Mullen did minus the Dak years. Leach has more wins against ranked opponents in 2 1/2 seasons than Mullen did his entire tenure

Auburn fans don't understand the winning mindset MSU fans have. We want to get better.

100%

It’s why Mullen quit because he was handcuffed by the UF administration and UAA and couldn’t compete with the Georgia and bama’s for elite players.

Since he was so tight with Stricklin from their Miss state days, they had a gentleman’s agreement to “fire” Mullen so that he could collect his buy out money. But in all actuality he quit.

I wouldn't use the word thrilled. Change always brings uncertainty. I think a good 80% of the fanbase is indifferent on the matter. 10% of fans don't understand that an athletic director is in control of more things than just a baseball hire/team. 10% are glad he's gone due to his schtick.

I mean Auburn used to dominate us a while back. Now we are on the same level and you are taking our scraps.

First, thank you for actually giving an answer as to why.

I know when Vic left Johnnie Harris was up for the job and Vic had even said he hoped she got it. Cohen didn’t hire her and ironically she’s at Auburn now.

Plenty of Miss state fans would love Mullen back

And I’d love him on the plains

War eagle!

The fact that Vic still has a residence in Starkville tells us all you need know on the situation.

I don't know how it all went down (story is just divided loyalties between Bama and FAU), but Saban telling him to walk before the national championship game really sucked. Cost us a national title IMO.

But overall I agree with you, there's not a lot of baggage there. Especially in relation to the coaching talent he has.

What’s idiotic about that?

Dan Mullen had Miss state ranked #1

He’s a grate coach!

Wouldn't be surprised if Dino was on his short list.

I really didn’t know the story or follow WBB. I do know Vic had championship level teams at MSU. So, Vic left because of the relationship with Cohen, or Cohen didn’t through more money at Vic when Texas called?

Auburn is at rock bottom and we’re at the same level. Pretty hilarious if you ask me.

Let me know if y’all ever win anything of significance. Otherwise I’ll wait to take MSU fans’ advise on a “winning mindset”
