LSU had the #1 defense in the SEC under Chavis. Chavis was the most solid coach in the program. If LSU stays at #1 in the SEC in defense, we may believe you. Otherwise, if LSU falls it will prove again that you are full of crap. Chavis hurt you. Own it and move on. I suggest counseling or bourbon.

That's why the 6th overall pick in the NFL draft finished his last year at LSU with 4.5 sacks despite the fact that he was playing with almost all 5* linemen right? Do you have any stats that show Mingo and Montgomery playing up to their ridiculously high talent level or are you just a disagreeable moron?

And if A&M doesn't have the top defense in the SEC then that means Chavis was only seeing top level success because of all the advantages LSU offered him. Goes both ways smart guy

1 int

BUT SPEEDY SCORED A TD

228 total yards

your offense disappears against real defenses

It's understandable, we were playing against the best DC in the SEC

Your best kept secret is that even thought your defense was soft as baby shite last year, your offense averaged under 20 points in loses last year.

Looks like Chavis has bought into the aTm preseason champs mindset nicely.

Chavis and Haley were best friends and it's one of the reasons Chief was getting angry with LSU. Miles wanted Haley gone but Chief wouldn't let Miles fired him.

Brick was a solid recruiter, but often got project 4-star players that mid-tier P5 schools were going after instead of the big-name recruits. He's also failed to develop the talent at hand and the technique he taught wasn't that good. He's one of the huge reasons that turnovers and sacks have gone down.

So the best thing about Brick is his recruiting? Kinda? Maybe I am asking the wrong question, let me ask it another way:

Imagine it is the offseason of 2013. Brick and Chavis are still on LSU staff and therefore you would naturally defend them. Me, the trolling Aggie, makes a thread that says "huh, huh Brick Haley is a Terrible Coach." What do you post in my thread to make me look stupid?

Thank you in advance.

yeah schools matter more than coaches

thats why LSU will survive and field a better defense, and A&M will still have pussies playing pussy defense.

This is the equivalent in believing in magic.

At best the culture of a school puts the fan emphasis on different parts of the game. Just having an LSU or A&M jersey on doesn't make you tackle harder or less hard.

Well you would be wrong seeing as how we pay them that now without championships.

We aren't really paying them that much in our region.

After seeing our defense be meh in 2012 with returning practically everyone but Mathieu, Claiborne, Brooks, Simon, and Brockers I don't see how many would defend Brick.

He had a DL of Logan, Montgomery, Mingo, and Ferguson and barely did jack squat with it.

Returning starters

DT: Logan (projected 1st round after 2011 season. Went 3rd round)
De: Mingo (1st round pick)
DE: Montgomery
MLB: Kevin Minter
OLB: Barrow
OLB: jones
CB: Simon
Cb: MILLS
S: Reid
S: Loston

He had Anthony Johnson too. 5 star #1 DT in 2011.

We also lost Claiborne, Taylor, etc but those losses were mitigated by who we had as depth.

Jeez I can't get yall to say anything nice about Brick.

Ok how about just a comment on this:

quote:

Ed Orgeron is the best evaluator and recruiter on the defensive line in college football, so there may be not much shame in being ousted for him. This is Drew Bledsoe (4 Time Pro Bowler) losing his job to Tom Brady (GOAT). LSU replaced an A- performer with an A+. Coaches like to shake up their staff and, similar to our acquisition of Jay Norvell, we may now have a coach with a big chip on his shoulder eager to prove his old boss wrong.

Brick was like a B-. The only guys that did well that Brick could take credit for are Brockers, Montgomery, and Mingo. Brockers was an unblockable manchild who was drafted in the 1st, Montgomery has now slipped into anonymity in the NFL, and Mingo is now a speed rushing OLB who got drafted in the 1st. Ed Orgeron has recruited and developed far more successful players throughout his career than Brick Haley has. He's a former recruiting coordinator, former head coach at P5 teams, and has been across the country as DL coach. They're not even comparable.

my real point was that we both still had the same players and the fact that LSU has gone and got good defensive talent for the last 15 years is why so many different DCs have had success here.

where as A&M has finesse players who rack up sacks against shite teams and get worked against a real offensive line.
