You guys don't understand just how bad Brick Haley was.
I'm yet to figure out what the difference between Brick and Coach O are. Both are good recruiters but terrible coaches.

Brick was not a great recruiter. He could never close. We were always finishing 2nd.
Timmy Jernigan
Robert Nkimdiche
Lorenzo Carter
I know there are more, but I'm drawing a blank.

So what are his strengths? I am serious, I would love some honest talk about Brick Haley. All I keep hearing from Texas fans is how many players he helped get into the NFL.

To me, not the greatest examples.
Timmy Jernigan - From Florida and joined an elite recruiting class
RN - Wanted to play with his brother
Carter - Georgia kid
Odds are, Brick closes this year on all of the d-line instate talent you have in LA this year

You think Orgeron is a terrible d-line coach?

His strengths was finishing 2nd on elite Dlinemen. He'd establish the connection with the recruit, but he wouldn't commit more time getting to know the recruit's coach or family.
Our pass rush disappeared with Chavis/Brick.
He helped get 1st round quality DT's and DE's 3rd round or worse draft grades. He didn't preach work ethic either. Many of his linemen slacked off on workouts with Moffit and there was never that intensity or urgency during practice. It was like snail's pace when it came to drills.

John Chavis statement on defensive talent today
Did you really expect him to say anything but complimentary?

He told the truth. Why are LSU fans so mad about this?
Posted on 8/14/15 at 11:25 am to northalabamacracker
Because deep down they know it's true.

Reminds me of another Texas school..

You certainly aren't talking about us. We hired one of the unquestionably best DCs in the SEC the last five years. We don't need to pump up the Chavis hire, the skins on his wall speak for themselves.
Meanwhile according to yall Brick was holding the defense back, while Texas fans feel they got a bargain in the guy. They are trying to pump up a guy whose record isn't so clear-cut badass. Kinda reminds me of a certain Louisiana school.

cas might just kill himself if Chavis has big time success at A&M. It must suck to have to hope that BOTH Steele succeeds and Chavis fails in order to be right.
Anyone else sense the nervousness in these A&M fans.
Are they trying convince everyone else Fat Freddie Mercury was worth all that money or themselves?

He had to do something right, yall kept him as a coach there for a while. I would think either Les or Chavis wouldn't allow such dead weight to just sit on the coaching payroll.
I know yall like to talk down ex-coaches but seriously what did Brick do right? What is he good at? There has to been something, and once I know that I know what Texas fans are full of shite and which ones actually understand what he might do for that team.
Thank you in advance.

He has to work out or A&M is replacing the entire staff within 2 years.

It would be nice if more LSU fans knew how to talk football like you do
Can you teach an online class? It could be called "Memphisaya's school for the trolling dummies"
We could send out an evite to:
NFLSU
Wade
Choctaw
Therick
WThang
SDVtiger

I think Chavis said that about Hunter last season. Hunter was exceptionally pedestrian under Chavis. Doing well in the pros now though.

Same thing could be said for the Steele/O combo.
