That's not even remotely what I said. Go look at the recruiting rankings and tell me if you think they will be less talented.

I'd be willing to bet with you that our OL will end up doing better than most of the conference. Maybe we use some stats such as sacks or rushing yards as proof.

It must suck to have to hope that BOTH Steele succeeds and Chavis fails in order to be right.

I'm pretty sure if Steele succeed and we keep beating up on A&M he will be fine.

No. Not really. He ended up exceeding our expectations.

Why is that? Your claims of Chavis' "system" were debunked earlier. The last time Chavis had a DL as talented as A&Ms, LSU led the conference in sacks (2011).

Oh good God.

You're now comparing aTm's Dline to one that had two 1st round picks, both top 10, and two 3rd round picks starting.

With 4 players that made NFL rosters, two that were drafted, rotating in. Please, take a step back and think about how stupid you just sounded.

Weird how a simple Chavis quote has you sitting 40 replies deep.

Anything you need to tell us?

That it was a slow day at the office

Look, I enjoy these threads because I know LSU will still be better than aTm next year

Tons of bumping material

12 pages in less than 3 hours? About a statement from a DC about his own team? Wow. Let me guess, thread full of LSU fans bashing Chavis and A&M fans defending him.

LSU fans would have mocked you last year if you suggested they trade Chavis for Steele. Now that they find themselves in that situation, they are bashing Chavis and defending Steele. Fanhood. It blinds us sometimes.

That dinosaur offense has taken LSU to the NC twice in 8 years

I will admit that is the funniest part of this offseason for me: How much yall are willing to run interference for a offense that OBVIOUSLY lost yall games combined with trying to pin those loses on Chavis because "he lost a close game."

Your defense has taken LSU to the NC twice in 8 years. One of those NC years it overpowered the non-SEC team and the other NC year it did it best trying to compete despite the fact that the offense couldn't cross the 50 yard line against a SEC team.

When historians look back at this golden age of LSU football they won't give credit to an awesome offense, the credit will go to the defense. And they will note the end of Les came when he lost the coaching talent needed to sustain that defense.

Your, urm, non dinosaur offense has won a cotton bowl and a Bama game.

I never said we are the high water mark for a non-dinosaur offense. For that look to EITHER of the teams who played for a national title next year.

In fact I will go so far to say Sumlin isn't the greatest offensive mind in the country or even the conference. But he recruits coaches and offensive players better than almost anyone, which is basically the LSU defensive strategy under Steele. If it can work for Steele it can work for Sumlin.

quote:

I think we will be just fine. Starting this year.

You would make a fine Aggy if you ever wanted to be with that attitude.

Actually I take that back, an Aggie would hedge that a little more. "Starting NEXT year."

You can show me whatever recruiting rankings you want, but the combination of talent and experience Collins provided won't be duplicated. Simple as that.

This is correct

Garrett and Hall are both future 1st round picks, Alonzo Williams is a 4th-5th round pick and Daylon Mack is gonna give SEC linemen a good old fashioned freshman fricking.

People will be shocked how good our defensive line is this year. Its the one unit on defense where we have stockpiled 4 and 5 stars for several years straight.

That isn't the funny part, the funny part is how CERTAIN they are that so many previous losses are Chavis's fault and not the fault of that offense. They not only want to shape the narrative about this coaching downgrade, they want to rewrite history to justify it.

What sucks about LSU fans is they do all this chest beating and then they won't take their medicine, you watch. Steele WILL be a downgrade, they WILL lose to A&M this year, and we will hear a million excuses of why they "don't care" or how "it is better overall because Les was done for years ago already."

Makes me miss playing a team like Nebraska every year. Now those are some fans who will really let you rub it in their faces when they are wrong. As an Aggie EVERYONE wants to rub our mistakes in our faces, it is nice to get a little bit of retribution every now and then.
