Joe Burrow named AP Player of the Year in landslide, LSU's first-ever winner

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow is The Associated Press college football player of the year in a landslide vote.
Burrow, who has led the top-ranked Tigers to an unbeaten season and their first College Football Playoff appearance, received 50 of 53 first-place votes from AP Top 25 poll voters and a total of 156 points.
Ohio State defensive end Chase Young was second with three first-place votes and 29 points while Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields was third with 43 points. Burrow, Young, Fields and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, who finished fourth with 33 points, are the finalists for the Heisman Trophy to be handed out Saturday in New York.

It’s a good thing Joe finished the year the way he did because if he was only decent against UGA plenty of idiots would try to drum up some controversy

It's funny how while no one could have predicted this, many of us were excited after watching his play last year. Other fan bases dogged him and his completion percentage but receiver drops killed us last year. Glad to see everything came together this year.

I did not see this coming.
Jokes aside, this year for LSU kind of reminds me of Alabama’s 2008 and 2009 year combined. Ended all those nasty streaks we had to everyone in ‘08 and finally got the job done in 2009.

I am well aware, i think most of us are.
The offensive evolution will be nice moving forward, but we just had one of (if not THE) best quarterbacks to ever do it in college.
Not once this season did he look like anything less than a polished professional at QB.
All we can do is enjoy it while we got it!
