I still can’t believe Calzada that game. Kid was frustrating as hell to watch all season.

Yes. That’s an excellent explanation.

But I still don’t understand how after all these years of paying players in college football

No players or coaches ever admitted to it.

You would think some stupid player would say “yes, this school paid me whatever amount of money”

I can imagine. During the LSU game, it got to comedic levels with both he and Max Johnson from play to play. All-World one play, absolute trash the next.

Any respect I had for Fisher's coaching abilities were lost when his team could not beat the LSU JV team last November.

Texas A&M Football is what it has always been...DECENT to MEDIOCRE. And that's not changing.

Sooo, he says his class has nothing to do with NIL or money, but then goes with the “everyone else is doing it and y’all don’t care” argument.

Jimbo Press Conference

Go to the 4;40 mark. Dude basically claims to know where the bodies are buried when discussing the recruiting and NIL tactics of his fellow coaches.

"How about coaches who are supposed to be doing the right thing? I tell you what, I know how some of those guys recruit too...go dig into that. I know the history, I know the tradition, and I know and I know things. Trust me, you don't want to go down that avenue. Its ridiculous and its irresponsible and its unbelievable. And I ain't talking about just one. Multiple people got NIL issues"

He then doubled down and called out Nick Saban by name

"Its funny when Nick Saban said his QB got an $800,000 NIL deal its wonderful. Now it ain't wonderful no more huh?"

He continues for another minute or so before wrapping up his comments/threats by calling Saban/other coaches clowns and telling then to come find him at the next meeting if they want to do anything about it.

Jimbo is sick of ALL of yalls shite and aint gonna take it no more.

So a head coach doesn't know the difference between getting a NIL deal after being on campus and promising recruits NIL deals for recruiting?

That's not good.

Uhh, for a potential Heisman trophy winner to market their product, exactly like NIL was legitimately planned?

What a moron.

Awfully angry and defensive for someone that pulled the #1 recruiting class. Methinks he doth protest too much.

SIAP

Big difference in the two situations . 1) If anyone listened to Saban and took the context, he basically said Young got the deal without ever having taking a snap and this is where CFB was headed. He didn’t like it. 2) BY got his deal AFTER he had been at Bama for a year. He didn’t get the deal to sign with Bama . Jimbo can talk all he wants . The pressure is on him to win now with a bought team. I don’t think he is going to want the smoke that these other coaches are going to bring

They could actually want to pay that player for marketing purposes for their business interests.

TAMU has been nothing but trouble. They were a mistake to bring in by Mike Slive. TAMU needs to go independent like Notre Dame, no one wants them.

Here’s what I bet. He will beat Saban again.
He’s all in. And pissed as hell at certain coaches.

He seems pretty dialed in.

The two most recognizable people in the state of Alabama are always:

1) Alabama's head coach
2) Alabama's starting QB

The governor is a distant third.

With that in mind, it makes perfect sense that a company would want to pay a SOPHOMORE that kind of money when he was the odds on favorite to win the starting job as well as had very favorable Heisman odds.

Also...NIL did not exist when Bryce Young committed and signed with Alabama.
