That's nice and all, but Bama and Miss State campuses are also less than 2 hours from each other. I'm not sure how you look at the map and come to the conclusion that Miss State wouldn't be Bama's third matchup.

I'd be stunned if what john q. fan wants factors into this in any way

UGA fans want Tennessee as the 3rd opponent while others want SC as the 3rd opponent

tennessee was never really a legit serious rival for us until the 2000s. We rarely played them up until divisions were created, then for a decade they were elite and we sucked. It's but a blip on the radar of SEC history. Meanwhile we have a lengthy hsitory wiht SC and we are unquestionably SC's biggest conference rival (and 2nd biggest rival overall).

I think it has a lot more to do with "SC needs to have UGA as a permanent opponent" more so than "UGA needs ot have SC as an opponent".

MSU aren't competitive enough to warrant pairing with lsu or alabama

I think it definitely makes sense to pair UGA and SC together. We have by far more history with them than any other team in the SEC. I'm just stating that it wouldn't be a huge deal in my opinion if they didn't have the two schools as permanent rivals.

If it makes you feel better I would rather see state draw LSU than bama. It wont happen but thats the outcome I would want. LSU, A&M, and Ole Miss.

ah I gotcha. Yeah I agree on that point and with your earlier point. I just think that thinking about it logically it makes a lot of sense for them to be one of each others' 3.

moo state won't sniff lsu or alabama sorry

36-3-76 and 18-3-84 respectively isn't exactly rivalry material. more like fodder.

Yawn. Since 2014 the series between us is very close to even. Cry bout it bawbaw. Even the Ls have been very good competitive games.

I also never said this was a “rivalry” clown.

I'd like to keep UGA on the schedule though. Even though ya'll are on a different level right now it's still a big game for us that I enjoy

Bama is gonna have Auburn, UT and State if they go the 3 route. I can more than guarantee you that.

A&M's 3 are gonna be Texas, LSU and Arky.

Modern times of course it's UGA.

All-time, you underestimate South Carolina's hate for North Carolina.

Would make sense why Sankey mentioned Arkansas playing Texas

Absolutely nothing would make me happier than playing Arkansas every year. As an old Texas guy, Arkansas is our #1 rival, and Old SOB Hog fan would say the same. To not feed the hate on both sides has been a serious loss of our culture to younger Horns and Hogs. FU Arkansas! But it’s nice to be back in the mix with you.

I dont' know if I'd say underestimate as much as I'd say it's just ignorance on the topic. I don't have an in depth knowledge of your history. But any time the topic comes up it seems that teh concensus is that it's clemson followed by UGA. I've rarely heard any SC fans even mention UNC, much less claim they are the #2 rival. Granted that probably has to do with being on SEC boards I suppose.

Kinda screws over teams like UF and UGA who are playing multiple P5 OOC.

I could live with this or Texas, Ole Miss, and aTm every year.
